For me whenever noni feels like he secured his place in the starting XI he always underperforms, Noni gets the best out of himself when there is always competition every week in his position and that he is not guaranteed a start for chelsea that's when he performs best. He always underperforms when he feels confident that he will start. We saw it happen under poch and we are seeing it now with enzo.

There was never a time he got consistent game time under Poch until the last games of the season (where he was important to our run). Under Enzo he's been one of our best forwards right since preseason and has had a poor two games, so has Neto and Jackson and Palmer, but yet, Noni is the one you keep singling out. Weird isn't it.

Very well said my g. At this rate I'm happy for us to setup sancho on LW and Neto on RW. Noni's problem has never been his technical ability and the fans have never slated him for it, its always mentality, decision making etc. Hope he fixes himself but he needs competition.

There's no agenda against him. He needs to be more mature with his play. He should pass the ball when it's the right thing to do and shoot when it's right so that he doesn't appear selfish. Everyone of us will like a better Noni. Every fan likes a performing player. My criticism is a positive one, out of love.

As to the penalty thing, people are not being fair to Noni. At the time Noni was the back up penalty taker, he had taken the one before when Palmer was not available. People forget that the foul that brought the penalty was on Palmer and he was on the ground rolling in pain because of the foul, apparently he was faking. Noni was right to step up and it was Nico who was jumped the gun. Once Palmer got up to take the penalty Noni stepped back and it was Nico who argued with Palmer. The Terry, Lampard, Czeh and Drogba of yester years foundation is represented today by Palmer, Colwill, Madueke , Caicedo and James. I would add Jackson because of the extended contract he just signed. Noni represents the swagger that is Chelsea.

Madueke is a very important player for Chelsea. Until someone bids 60+ mil for him and we've got Estevao to take over that right side forward slot anyway. Also, let's please remember that Estevao is playing senior football these days at 17 years old and despite being smaller, slower, and significantly weaker than everybody he's playing against, he's still making everybody else look bad. He's not "some kid", he's the kid. He shouldn't walk into the starting 11 just because but we should absolutely expect him to displace Madueke during the 25/26 season. In terms of playing ability, Madueke does with raw pace what Estevao does with superior balance and control. I'm generally a bit skeptical of generational wonderkids, since there seems to be a new couple of scores of them every year, but Este is stupidly talented. As much as I like Madueke, we'll be a bunch of twice-used discount tea bags if we don't at least try to make the most of Estevao.

This nonsense narrative that Noni is selfish is so stupid. Plauers don't pass every single time. Palmer also doesnt pass all the time. Palmer and Neto and Jackson were also poor against Bournemouth but its only Noni getting all the flack. He played a great pass to Jackson too who couldn't hold his run. Stop attacking him so much. Its weird. He works incredibly hard, always trying, neve hides, never runs from competition. Why do you people think arrogance and confidence is wrong? It’s not a narrative, it’s a reality. His decision making is poor and you trying to ignore that is similar to the people that tried to convince themselves that Sterling was a good decision maker in the final 3rd…it’s not hate it’s fair criticism. Jackson got the flack against palace, yet it was Noni that missed a 1v1 on his strong foot and didn’t even test the keeper, you just criticised Jackson again for the Bournemouth chance but watch it again and you’ll see how early he could’ve passed before playing the striker into a corner and then there was a fantastic run by Neto but he didn’t even out his head up to assess cos he already was gonna pass right but he still held onto the ball too long which if you’re gonna do that, then Neto was the better pass and then we won the ball high up on his right foot and off balance but rather than shift it to palmer outside of him, he just took a pot shot. These were the last 2 games and you see the difference when you have players like Nkunku, Palmer and even Sancho in the last game in those positions, we don’t complain about their decision making cos more time than not they do the right thing. Just imagine when Noni scored his hat trick that Palmer only made one of those passes and tried to shoot the other times, us fans won’t like that and even the Sancho assist over the weekend, Noni in that position would only want to take the player on with pace cos he doesn’t play with his head up enough, we have enough evidence to criticise these actions, he can get better but I don’t see him as a long term Chelsea player but hope he can prove me wrong cos I want the best for the team and if that ends up being him, I’d be very happy

I'm not saying Noni is THERE yet, but I'm not gonna then tall about it like he isn't working hard, like he isn't better than he used to be and like others are playing better than him. He had two chances to make a pass in the last game, he got one right to Jackson, and he failed to make the other to Neto. Neto didn't see any, Palmer didn't either. It's fine. They didn't have good games. But most people come out picking on Noni, questioning everything he does, wanting him to be dropped. It's ridiculous.

@@davidadetun8029 lol you say you’re not attacking one but you literally said Jackson missed a chance that Noni gave him which is simply not true and now I know you’re scrambling cos the pass I was mentioning that could’ve gone to Neto is the same pass he made to Jackson. He made the pass late and took too many touches rather than release early and Jackson was offside by the time the pass came so even if he scored, it would’ve been ruled out. Not absolving Jackson of blame either but once Noni held onto the ball for that long till Jackson went offside, the only right pass remaining was to Neto but he didn’t get his head up to spot that pass, go watch it back and maybe you’ll see what I’m talking about. Noni is a good player but like Jackson, they’re both inconsistent. I critique both and I just don’t subscribe to not pointing out obvious flaws. Too many people blame one or the other, the truth is they both have limited football iq and are under threat to lose their starting position if they don’t become more consistent

I'm also not attacking Jackson, I mentioned that situation because people keep claiming he's selfish which just isn't true. The fact he's created the most chances so far after Palmer shows that. I understand our players aren't there. I don't make excuses for them, I don't attack unreasonably either. It makes no sense to call for Noni to be benched when Neto hasn't performed either, etc. Saying Noni is arrogant, selfish and so on. It's just not true. Fans just can't bear to see a player with some personality.

Noni has massive talent.....the only thing stopping him is that he wants to be the star of the team and therefore he is selfish. He cant get away with selfishness against decent teams, the only reason his selfishness did not cost us against Bournemouth was because Bournemouth players were either wasteful or unlucky in front of goal. Sancho came in the other day, did not force himself to dribble, dribbled only when it was necessary, just did basic things but did them perfectly selflessly and he was the MOTM, exchanged neat passes with his teammates, thereby moving his opponents around and out of position, someone needs to tell Noni the best way to create chances is to exchange passes with ur teammates so that ur opponenets will lose their form and shape and you get the space to receive the ball in positions where you can hurt them. Maresca needs to train them to understand the logic of passing

I have always believed in Noni. From the second half of last season! If you noticed, the team picked up the moment Poch started playing Noni regularly. His talent is Raw & the boy knows it. He just needs some more tactical brilliance in terms of passing & knowing when to shoot. Generally so far, I think Moresca is bringing out the best in the boys !

George at the present moment , Madueke has a special‘bond’ when playing alongside Palmer . This goes back to last season . They read each other’s mind on the field . They complement each other’s plays . It seems to be a natural instinct . Coach Maresca has to continue with this combination . It’s proven lethal for the opposition. Coach has to plan on including Sancho within their plays . What Sancho displayed in his first Chelsea game was outstanding. However Coach Maresca needs to urgently develop Chelsea’s defensive unit . The defense is still vulnerable . We will miss the experience and leadership of Thiago Silva . Chelsea’s next game vs West Ham will be an indicator of how well Chelsea are performing under Maresca’s system .

Just need Maresca to review our midfield setup and switching up Jackson w/ Nkunku etc then we tight. 1st class if he can get Nkunku, Felix, Palmer, Sancho to alternative positions dynamically during the game etc. It would prove a handful if we can tactically perfect it.

Noni is incredibly talented but needs to improve his consistency, particularly with decision-making. He sometimes holds onto the ball too long, which limits his effectiveness as a right winger, sometimes. Adding unpredictability to his game would make him more dangerous. I'd also love to see Pedro Neto compete with Noni on the right wing. Neto’s more dynamic and his quick decision-making could bring a fresh dynamic to the role. Healthy competition between them could elevate both players and add depth to our attack.

Did you watch his mediocre performance last time against Bournemouth? I think he is talented but easily spoiled when he feels his position is secured. U see every game since last year in which we've dropped points has 2 things in common, Jackson and Noni missing sitters and being selfish AF, and usually these chances comes at the starting 20-30 min and by the end we're hoping not to loose the tie. I'm not saying they're bad it's just they reach that worldclass level and then dips and the cycle continues. I sense a cold war (for stardom ) amongst attacking players. Top in that war is palmer, Madueke and Nkunku. Palmer shows it more on the field of play(he clearly avoids passing the ball to some players). Nkunku's celebration gives another clue. I don't want to believe this to be the case eish

I think the 1v1 tactics at the wing has benefited Noni so yh he’s feeling confident naturally considering his goal output but let’s not get carried away guys, it’s about consistency. We’ve seen that CP can maintain that high level consistently, I think we Noni needs to show that and I’m sure that’s EXACTLY what he’ll e focusing on. The truth is that we need all the players performing with confidence and if Maresca can achieve that, I am ABSOLUTELY sure that we’ll make top 4 at the least. Btw I do not see the genius in Estevao performance tho, I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel his hype is too high for his performances so far, it’s kinda like Mudryk’s hype. The boy is good but not showing the kind of genius Neymar did at that age in my opinion. Estevao is good but I just feel the hype is not fully deserved by his performances.

Madueke is looking a lot better but I don’t think he’s going to be consistent enough to keep his starting place with this competition. I think Neto is a better player and then we also need to talk about how we’re going to get Felix and Nkunku on the field. A lot of good options for us and I wouldn’t even be surprised if there were moments where Palmer played RW with Nkunku or Felix at the 10. Hope Madueke keeps his cool if he loses his place a couple times

My problem with Madueke is that besides being a fast growing player, he has refused to be a good learner. Why should he always get angry whenever he is substituted? Good example is our last game when the game changers were brought in; Sancho, Felix and Nkunku.

The line between self confidence and pride is very very thin. It is as thin as thread that people struggle to know the difference. Without self confidence, you cant be an elite footballer (he's football idol is even Ronaldo, so this sort of thing is expected). He is undoubtedly our most direct forward and you can see he doesn't enjoy back passes, he always has a flare and wants to make something happen for himself or his teammates Sometimes when he passes back it is to receive a 1-2 pass or a bounce back so he can attack the space in begind(take his assist on his England debut for example when he played a 1-2 with Trent and unfortunately only Palmer understands him well(Enzo and Caicedo a bit though but i think Lavia is best at finding him after Palmer)

Noni is gonna spoil his own Chelsea career. This thing of wanting to be a hero in certain game-situation is going to cost Chelsea one of these days. The guy could have a lot of assists, but at times, he would go for goal where it would be better to pass. 1) I think we have enough talent to finish top 4 this season. Maresca jus has to get his tactics and selection correct. That last game should be proof enough for what he should do next game. 2) I don't think Noni IQ is high enough to help us in the way that Palmer does. He reminds me of Hudson-Odoi. Full of potential but very inconsistent. One game he's fire and the next he's like a new player, completely lost.

My only problem with noni is he is trying too hard. Overcarrying the ball when he just needs a simple pass, delaying passes and shooting when its much better to pass. If he just sorts this out he will be nailed on the RW. Otherwise he has been selfish

Estevao will not look up to Noni, rather they will be competitors and this includes Palmer. A single season is not sufficient to be termed untouchable. Word for note, Makalele was one of the most important players in that league winning team and not less than Terry, Lampard and Drogba.

Noni is TOO greedy, if he gets anywhere near the penalty box we all know and so do the opposition, 9 times out of 10 he will cut back onto his left foot and try to shoot, he needs to mix it up and get to the byline and cross or pull back
