People use the word underrated too much, it has no meaning anymore. This band was signed by a major label, have about a dozen of albums and their own record label. They are properly rated.
No doubt Nonpoint is a great band , underrated is not a correct description for them. Signed by a major label and have a plethora of albums , but Sevendust is a whole different monster.
As if Phil Collins' 'In The Air Tonight' couldn't get any better?! Nonpoint comes along and makes this ABSOLUTE SLEDGEHAMMER of a Cover/ Tune! Genuinely, What a piece of Music! Am I Right??
Big fan of the original. Can't believe I never heard this cover. Love the style. I think it does justice to the original and still stands completely on its own. Excellent.
I absolutely love it when I hear other bands pay homage to older songs, respect is everything, an aslong as they do it tastefully there's nothing wrong with redoing an older song like this one, make it more interesting with your own spin on it, without changing it to much.. CRANK IT UP LOUDER, ROCK ON EVERYONE !!
I just heard this cover for the first time on SiriusXM a couple weeks ago, and thought it was a phenomenal take on it, but never realized how long it's been floating around.
It's the slightly harder feel that was needed in the song though. he needed to continue more of the drums after the major hit he did in the original and it would of added a lot more to the song.
It's kinda crazy how certain music comes into your life when you need it. Could be yrs later but just seems to be perfect timing. I remember listening to the original when I was way to young to actually appreciate music. But I did!!!! This is an amazing cover. Nonpoint is absolutely an amazing band....
Not a huge fan of remakes but Nonpoint seriously killed this song and did some serious justice and I'm sure Phil Collins would be damn proud of this version!!!
@@bambam4857 Not only that, but when the song was released, there were some people talking smack about Phil Collins and his drumming ability. Now, Phil cannot play drums anymore due to wear and tear on his shoulders, as well as his overall decline in health. These folks were saying Phil deserved to not play anymore claiming the he always sucked as a drummer. Elias himself defended Phil's musical talent and slammed the brakes on the haters. Talent respects talent.
Worthy successor to the original Phil Collins song. And that 2006 Miami Vice movie...in terms of substance and style, it was ahead of its time. That movie has aged very well. Disappointed that a Miami Vice 2 was never made.
@@michaelblum4557 Yeah, bruh. No doubt. I saw this movie again a few weeks ago and the cinematography was as amazing as when I first saw it. This move is special to me because it was the last movie I saw at the theater before I deployed to Iraq.
Saw these AMAZING DUDE'S in Spokane with HELL YEAH....they sound just like there CDs.... My New favorite band.. listen every day for Spiritual growth..... God bless
2023 , from the land of the Persia 🖤🤘🏿 I love this cover, this song, u guys did Awesome job🤘🏿 We r in civil war, but the only thing that we want is peace, love, and freedom... From here I say hello to all and wish all the best things for everyone #woman_life_freedom
@Amanda Vinson I actually thought this was the original song, until just the other day. Yeah all this time. Lol not sure where I've been all this time. Somewhere though. Somewhere.
NONPOINT - In The Air Tonight ¥ “ I can feel it coming in the air tonight , oh Lord, And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord. Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand, I've seen your face before my friend, but I don't know if you know who I am, Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes, So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been - It's all been a pack of lies. I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord. Well I remember, I remember, don't worry, how could I ever forget, It's the first time, the last time we ever met. But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you don't fool me, ‘Cause the hurt doesn't show, but the pain still grows, no stranger to you and me, I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord. And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord. I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord.’
I love the original - one of the most eerie songs ever to be made, especially for the time. This cover is very good indeed, different approach but that's what covers are about. Bravo, nonpoint.
Usually covers don't even compare to the original... Nonpoint went above and beyond work this one. Surpassing the original in my opinion. Been a fan of nonpoint for around 15-20yrs, they are an amazing band
This has always been my favorite Phil Collins cover of this song. I seen Nonpoint with Disturbed in mid 2000s at The Rave in Milwaukee and Nonpoint put such a better performance. I’ve seen Nonpoint many time live
@@rae3896 nice hope you enjoy them live. I might have to go to that show now. When I go to work on Monday I’ll have to see if I can go to that show. I live in Knoxville Tennessee now
Nonpoint consistently respects and either dies justice or makes the originals better. I've never heard another band own their covers like they do. The way they play its almost as if they wrote and arranged the song from the beginning. I've listened to these guys since the beginning and I still have yet to see them. It's always work or taking care of someone or whatever that comes up everytime I go to buy tickets. Before I die I hope to get to see them live in concert.
His clean vocals sound so good . This is first time I've heard him doing that style I wonder if there are any other songs where he does the same type of singing style ?
What a jam... Seen Non Point live... Man... What a show. Them guys earn their money and always excellent performers... Go see them if you haven't. Great band
And they also hang out and enjoy the music and food. They were watching Hoobastank last night from the stage, and ran into a couple of them on a water run.
I became a fan of Nonpoint after hearing this cover and began to check out the rest of their music. Have not been dissapointed yet. Keep Rocking out the tunes.

This version just slaps. The love I have for the original is always offset with how long it takes for the drums to kick in & Nonpoint doesn't hesitate right from the start.
just discovered this and i have to say i dont enjoy alot of covers but this is truly fantastic. the lead singer also has a wonderful voice!!!! xoxo love from Maryland
When I saw these guys they had pretty damn good weed and were down to earth as hell and even broke the stage at the venue they played. The most energy I’ve seen in a live rock band outside of death metal
Best remake of this song I’ve ever heard ❤️! This song has always reminded me of the hell my parents put my sister and me through as kids...they thought we would forget as grew old...but what they did to us is “no stranger to you and me”, and the truth is in the air tonight!
I forget about this classic redo!!?? Oh what a week tis been.... I hope each and everyone of you achieve your goals!!! Reach for the moon, Land on the stars!
WOW, what an awesome cover! I don't remember ever hearing this cover. I have to thank Mike the Music Snob (Become the Knight) because he recommended this song. This is going on my playlist right now.
