There are many songs from DSMC Albums of the Mar Thoma Church. The lead Soprano is Dr.Antu Annam Thomas of Mar Thoma College Thiruvalla. She is the leading Soprano in all most all Western songs, recorded over several years starting from Sajan Achen and continued by Viji Achen,John Mathai Achen and completed successfully by Ashish Achen. Still new projects are coming up.
As far as I was able to learn, Mar Thoma Church is a Syrian church. Their liturgy, dress code, tradition are all Syrian in nature. Then how come their music alone is in Anglican style ? Is there an identity confusion ?

Didn't German church contributed to it? And about CSI, why they are using eastern songs ( ഗീതം)? So by your logic no other person can use Sadu kochukunj upadesi songs other than Marthomites? What about K.V Simon? What about Mosavalsalam, only LMS can sing this?
@@MrLGKM My comment was not about singing four parts. It was about 'identity confusion'. Anybody can sing any song; nowadays even pentecostals sing four parts. That's not an issue. Commenting under a collection of songs titled 'CSI Choir Songs' boasting 'These are all DSMC songs - The leadig soprano in almost all western songs is a Marthomite lady - These are the projects of so and so Marthomite Achens' is not a good attitude. If these are songs from DSMC albums and if all these are sung by Marthomites, DSMC could have published them under the title 'Marthoma Choir Songs'. Who objects ?
@@varghesejacob3952 Are you dumb enough? What he said is some songs in this video is directly taken from DSMC albums recorded by DSMC. He mentioned the lead singers in that album. So what is in to boast Marthoma? About identity crisis, Marthomites ain't have any crisis. We have enough capabilities to address any kind of crisses. Also adapting anything good is part of growth. Hopefully you can't understand what I meant and I am not responsible for your narrow mind attitude. Grow up
Do not forget that the CMS missionaries and other English missionaries have made valuable contributions to the Marthoma church in the field of education and training of clergy. So the influence is bound to be there. Let us not forget history.

I’m belongs to CSI church Kollam,each song carried me to the past around 40years,remembering Arthur enos (Kunjumon achayan)the then organist and each members of choir.
I am a MarThomite , My attraction to church music and 4 parts signing basics gained from CSI Christ Church, Quilon In 1994. My classmate Alex Thomas from Mundakkal was a chonster in that church at that time.

The hymn, 'Where is my wandering boy tonight' at 5:25:55, is such a beautiful hymn, sung beautifully. This song haunts you so often. The voice is so soothing, the pitch perfect, Malayalam diction too is great. God bless you. Wonder who is the lady who sang these Hymns?
