I just randomly got this recommended, probably because of the random Asian food stuff I watch, and I’m glad I clicked it because it’s a great concept for a channel! Not surprised it tastes terrible but I’m subbed for future videos now 👌
I was wondering if you were going to review this product. I have passed by it many times in the grocery store and was never tempted to get it because of my experience with the Everything Bagel version. 🤮 Do you think Nissin puts out these weird flavors of ramen and waits to see which ones will stick? 😁
I can't pretend to know why, but I have to assume that the parade of weird flavors the last couple of years means that they must sell pretty well from people who are morbidly curious enough to buy them once to try. I can't imagine that many people would try this one (or Everything Bagel) and go back to the store for more, but I have to guess the social media barrage when a new wacky flavor comes out lands in Nissin’s favor financially, otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it.
I shudder to think of all the flavor ideas piled up in their R&D department trash can. "Coming soon from Nissin: Cotton Candy Cup Noodles with Pop Rocks!"
It's really tough to choose just one because there's so many different styles of ramen out there and I'm not always in the mood for the same thing. The ones that I think are the best in various categories are in my Top 10 video from a few months back. Probably my favorite flavor out of everything I've had so far is Marutai Kumamoto Black Garlic Tonkotsu, although I probably eat Nongshim Shin Black most frequently.
yeah, that fugu version would be much more interesting obviously. we dont't have these around my parts (fortunately) i'm sort of interested in the whole reason why Nissin, aswell as several other big player brands, started producing these localized products. There are some weird import laws in both the US and the EU appearantly, where the good stuff like Nongshim and Samyang etc. have export versions for the west with crazy variations in the powder mostly... i remember posting on your vid about the nissin black garlic tonkotsu that in europe its artifical pork for example. with that said i kind of want to try these for some reason even though it more or less sounds like the worst idea for ramen ever xD
Yeah, there is quite a bit of restriction on meat imports/exports, even if it's only in extract or powder form, and because of the pork ingredients in Nissin's gimmick noodles like this one or Breakfast, they won't make it overseas. They like to pretend it's all about protecting people from diseases in foreign livestock, but I've heard that that's really just an excuse to show favor to domestically produced meat products instead. So the stuff made in Nongshim's and Nissin's US factories ends up exclusive to the US for mainly that reason, and the really fancy stuff from Asia rarely makes it to the EU or NA. This is why I really hope that the major brands can establish factories in other places worldwide so that everyone can get the products they want without any weird artificial flavoring compromises. Maybe someday.
@@thenoodlejourney Oh, that's interesting. I haven't heard that reason for it before, but it makes sense .Yeah let's hope we get the good stuff here soon.. Until then i guess we'll just have to keep importing
Thank you for taking one for the team...skipping this one if I see it on the shelf. Well... Now that you've mentioned Moxi.. While I'm a big fan of the soda and I am from the New England area I really hope they don't try that one 😄
Oh, I have tried Moxie before, although it's impossible to get down here. You guys need to make sure to keep it out of Nissin's hands! 😂 Pass a local ordinance or something.
