All these school boys start gym every morning at 05:00am go to school and then training after school and if they are part of a provincial team for the craven week or got signed by a club generally from age 14 they have more training after school practice and that is why overseas clubs come to South Africa during craven week to scout for players and sign them. SA is the hunting ground for rugby players and have the most depth in rugby around the world

So its little boy rugby, then high school, then Varsity cup (the universities), U20s and the different rugby union matches according to provinces, then the Springboks. There's also rugby 7s, they're called the Blitzbokke. Our blood is basically green 🇿🇦🏉

Grey College is 1 of the 5 best rugby schools in the world. There is actually a couple of South African Schools in the top 20. Rugby is in our blood here

your answer - The following is from an article in South African newspaper ; South African school rugby suffering rise in steroid use Increase in positive tests for boys between 16 and 18 a big problem. "That pressure may be internal from the boys themselves, or from their parents or peers, and certainly a significant amount of it is from the coaches. "There are cases where coaches will tell players they need to pick up 10kg before the start of the season if you want to make the team. "There is that sort of innuendo that the kid interprets as them needing to 'bulk up' to make the team.
