So happy for Keke Palmer, she is not only a working actress but a working everything so I’m happy she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves!

keke palmer has been in the game for a while now. i’m so happy that she is finally getting all the paise that she rightfully deserves. she’s a breath of fresh air and i can’t wait to see what she has next!

I straight up forgot that The Batman came out earlier this year. March seems like it was so far away. Happy to see more of Keke Palmer, Brandon Perea, and Steven Yeun.

Keke Palmer feels like she is everyone's cousin. Like how Jeff Goldblum is everyone's uncle, Keke is everyone's cousin. Fun and bouncy and has that sibling vibe to her as well

I really don't understand Universal's logic for such a scattered release for this movie. We only get it on 17th August and other European countries as well. It's going to be very hard trying to avoid spoilers for this one. That being said, so happy we got this review to hold us over :)

My whole life I’ve been waiting for Keke Palmer to become the A-lister she’s meant to be. IMO She deserves the type of Fame and success Zendaya has. I CANNOT Wait for this one FREAKING DOCTOR TYME?!?

Brandon Perea was one of the main cast in the Netflix show "The OA", which was one of my favorite shows. Netflix cancelled it after season 2, which left on a cliffhanger. My long-shot hope is that Brandon Perea's success from this could convince Netlfix to pick up Season 3 of the OA. But regardless, so happy he had this opportunity and sounds like he nailed it. I'm excited to see this!

Manifesting Oscar noms for Keke Palmer and Michelle Yeoh... Especially due to the awesome work they did in genre films.

Keke Palmer stans rise!

My dad and I are so freaking pumped for this movie. Get out is one of our favorite horror thrillers in recent years, and we were fairly disappointed with us, and even though he didn't really direct it, Candyman had his fingerprints all over it, and we didn't like that film at all. Very glad to see that this one will most likely live up to the hype

I am so excited to see this!!! Side note: my favorite Universal Horror Night experience (I have gone to several) was when they had a Texas Chain Saw Maze - (Not a big fan of the film) You really get that all of the special effects folk that work on films help put these things together ... I was walking the maze and leather face jumps out - I jumped a little - then he swooshed his chainsaw up at me - and the sound effect of the chainsaw went louder and all of a sudden, I felt warm liquid on my arm and face .. I screamed and ran the other way ... got out... it was warm water... they were shooting warm water out of the chainsaw. Best maze scare of my life.. to date.

Literally just purchased a ticket for "Nope" here in Pooler G.A. on the worlds tallest IMAX because of your review Grace. Was going to see it at a regular screen but you sold it.

So far this year's best film is The Black Phone imo. But aim super excited for this if any film can top that it's a Jordan Peele film.

Well, I would love to see it this weekend, but I have to wait three more weeks before it comes out in Germany. It's gonna be tough to keep away from spoilers for that long...

Love Peele's movies. Love the tone, the character dialogue/situational awareness. It's sharp. It smothers but it bites, so it's never lost in stylistic overkill. Love the creep factor of his villains. He gives the antagonistic presence ample space. We feel they're broken, but that damage doesn't derail their disturbingly-meticulous planning -- we know the menace is passionate, which makes it more dangerous. Love Peele's shot selection and soundtrack integration. Edit: Jordan works with great cinematographers and composers, not to take away from their contributions, but he storyboards-out his set pieces in a very deliberate way with most visual and audio cues -- the man has a great, Hitchcock-esque, natural vision for a disturbing encounter. He can place the viewer somewhere very uncomfortable, but somewhere they can't look away from. You could say some of M. Night Shyamalan's earlier classics were constructed in a similar way, balancing aesthetic and high-tension character stress in a very intoxicating, yet sharp (veering on cynical) way. His protagonists absolutely suffer-to-learn, sometimes brutally, but they always fight back and take us along for the recovery and revenge.

Got my tickets for Thursday night, can't wait!

I was only mildly curious about this movie, I didn't believe a word about all the critics saying it was the best movie of the year but now, I think i might need tickets for tomorrow.

Since universal started with very little info and a big activation at the Hollywood Studios to advertise the movie it gives you a very good vibes.

Grace, I’ve been wondering that for a lonnnng time. Why are there no more premium auditoriums in these theaters? Who watches on standard screens anymore? I hate being limited to times to see a movie in IMAX or Dolby due to them only having two auditoriums etc. Great point!

This was a love letter to Spielberg! I see close encounters Jaws and even ET! With a horror twist that's where Jaws comes in! And Peele said Speilberg was a big inspiration!

I'm seeing the film this weekend. Been doing a Jordan Peele horror marathon. Currently on the second season of his twilight zone reboot and tomorrow I'm watching his and director Nia Dacosta's Candyman from last year. Then ending said marathon with of course NOPE.

Grace, I haven't visited NYC, b/c of Covid. Do you all have 4dx? I know there's one in LA, but that was a few years ago. I'm sure if they have it where I am, they should have at least one or two in every major city.... I bet it's worth seeing on 4dx. ...

Grace, I'm gonna have to disagree that nobody sees movies on non-premium screens. In my town, Premium screens sell fine but the standard format are definitely the most popular. They always sell out. Maybe it's different in NYC but in small to mid sized towns and cities, people like the cheaper option. Though I always go to Imax of course 😂
