Overeating is definitely a verb with which I am very familiar (pats his pot belly); still, because my mom has a professional prologue of teaching people how to be nurses, I am also familiar with the messy medical consequences -- the itemization thereof I will spare you. I am surprised that Paula has not established the "I better not EVER get called on my job behind your mess" homeostasis with Nora to avoid having to intercede in this manner; unfortunately, that requires a lot of proactive configuration behind the scenes. Paula made a good move to take Nora to the doctor; still, what would have been ideal is to have Nora's glucose and insulin levels appraised. Hunger of the demonstrated magnitude is a sign of an internal deviant diagnostic; instead of proceeding with the school/work commute, Paula should have done some more investigating into why Nora continues to feel hungry after breakfast and forwarded the data to Nora's pediatrician to discern if it is a sign of a medical issue. Overeating is also a symptom of psychological and psychiatric contention; Paula should also prosecute an investigation along those lines. I would love to know why Nora's dad is not on the scene along with why Amy has to be drawn upon like in that dentist episode; does Amy not have her own life of things she needs to focus on?
