If you were to use the octave shift with each patch the total number of possibilities would be x 2, x 3. Drop down to sub bass frequencies and you've got bass sounds. Not everything is useful, and so that's why I've restricted it to x2 & x3. You can only jump so many octaves before it becomes useless.
