In this Nord Stage 4 tutorial, I show you how to make a soft piano sound using the White Grand piano that's great for times where you need a more subtle piano sound for your song! I use this sound on the Nord Stage 4 at church and turn to it often as we're ending a song to play under prayer or speaking. The Nord Stage 4 has some great features like dynamic compression and the cloud reverb effect that work really well with this soft piano sound!

Very exciting explanations, I'm really looking forward to trying out these settings myself on my NS 4 - with gratitude

Excellent. Didn’t know about the secondary reverb option (with shift). I sometimes press the keys less hard, that works for me 😉

Dude, I think you just saved my life. This Nord is so confusing and is taking a major learning curve. I’ve even considered returning it because I don’t have the time to learn the complexities but I think you showed me enough to make me able to play tomorrow for church. Thanks a million!

Have you notice that the reverb behaves different on the Stage 4 than the Piano 5 when you put it all the way wet? I prefer the way Piano 5 does it.

Hey Dsoundman, I don’t get why it says NS4 Palette sometimes and then goes away. I can’t even find the 3d piano

still using the Stage3, sounds like you were transposed a little bit, like to trade up to a 4, but hard to justify the expense

Does the Nord Stage 4 have a "Global" Octave shift down/up button? I know you can change the octaves individually per section Organ/Piano/Synths, but is there a Master Global Octave shift that affects ALL sections?

No it doesn’t.

What type of cables balance or unbalanced when connecting a Nord stage 4 I'm about to buy one but I want to get everything when I'm at the store

The outputs on the Nord are unbalanced, but you can use either. For longer cable runs I’d go with balanced, but 10ft or so you’ll be fine with unbalanced.
