Thank you so mush for the review and tutorial Corey, great work! It is as you say, it's maybe not the best product for consumers or first time users (yet), for them I usually recommend to start with standard trays and soil get a better understanding. The growing kit is more or less for people who already is growing microgreens, and is looking for a soilless option. But where the system truly shines is when you connect it to the wateringsystem. We produce several hundred of channels(trays) a week and this has really reduced the amount of hours we have to put in each week. Many Thanks! //Michael
Nordamark I have been very happy with them over all. As I said in the video, I can’t say enough about the quality of the hemp fiber mats, they are fantastic. I may expand the system and set up automatic watering.
I really like this .. 👌🌱.. I'm looking for channel system for growing my pots with automated watering (what a dream..lol) . Great vid brother . Great grow too. 😎🤙🌱
It looks like a system that you could build the racks 4 foot deep and slide them out like large drawers. If you had a system like that I think it would really be great if you could make it a bottom watering system
The farmtek microgreen grow system does that but it's over 3k. I've seen some people just use regular k style rain gutters with end caps as a diy project.
I think this type of a set up might be great for someone who is doing maybe more production growing. Small scale/personal set ups.. the smaller 10 x 20 trays are still probably the way to go. I looked up their price of 2 rail starter kit and it's about 44E..which is around $50 USD not sure what shipping is. For that same amount of money, you can get several good quality 10 x 20 trays, some seeds, and mats...I don't know if an active nft rail system for microgreens makes sense.. maybe? I did just watch On The Grow..and they just built a type of nft rail set up,; it was an active nft rail tray that you would set 10 x 20 trays in. Again, it seems to make sense if you're med to large scale. I'd say..if you're producing microgreens on the scale where you're filling up one of those large 5 or 6 tier racks..you're probably needing to consider ways to automate/reducing physical handling.
Forage Forage Yeah I wouldn’t recommend it as just a starter package. The starter kit is great if you are looking to expand and automate and want to try it out before making a large order.
Excellent review!!! The automated setup Nordamark is suggesting looks a lot like the AmHydro 10-tray propagation system that works for microgreens/fodder as well..what do you think Corey?
