I spent a few weeks testing and comparing NordVPN vs Windscribe - and I got some exciting results to share. I’ll cover security, capabilities, and some facts other reviews often fail to mention!

❓ Which is more secure?
Can Windscribe VPN stand against NordVPN security standards? In most cases, yes. For example, while doing this Windscribe VPN vs NordVPN comparison, I found that both VPNs have RAM-based servers. They can’t retain user data, so it’s one of my favorite things to see in VPN reviews.
🔦 Privacy policies
Both VPNs have solid, up-to-standard encryption ciphers and no-logs policies. While my NordVPN review revealed an independent audit to prove their claims, I didn’t find anything of sorts in my Windscribe review. Windscribe also keeps a bit more data about its users.

🏎️ Speed tests
With the free version of Windscribe, the speeds..well, sucked. With a 300Mbps baseline, I got pretty good results with the US servers. But the UK servers barely scraped around 70Mbps. Sadly, with the Premium version, the random speed drops remained.
It wasn’t a surprise that NordVPN speeds were better. I didn’t get any of the random speed drops and the average speed retention I got was about 80%.
🎥 Streaming capabilities
Nord’s consistency is also great news to streaming enthusiasts. I was able to access Netflix US, UK, Canada, South Korea, and even Japan. Windscribe got stuck on the last two, even their special Windflix servers didn’t help.

⭐ Unique features - Windscribe
Most of them, for some reason, were on the browser extension. For example, there’s a Time Warp to fake your timezone, and a Location Warp for a GPS spoofer… but personally, I don’t find these that useful. But I do like their Cookie Monster browser extension feature.
💎 Unique features - NordVPN
The Onion over VPN feature is a pretty great tool for anonymity seekers. There’s also the new Meshnet feature, pretty unique stuff. It’s not only for securely accessing remote files - but gamers also will find it useful, to host secure virtual LAN parties.
