This very much depends on the dog and the time you can spend having the puppy bond with the rabbit. Our Hank loved all animals, and he might sniff a lot but he'd never harm. Jaxon gets excited, and his nip could be deadly for a small rabbit. You have to be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to build a bond, and even if you do that, it might never be a good idea to leave the 2 in the same room without a very quick adult keeping a close eye on things. Remember, terriers are fast and could grab the rabbit and run away and hurt the rabbit before you ever get a chance to catch up. Also, even if you plan on keeping everyone separate, mistakes are bound to happen. Plan for the mistakes and figure out how you'll deal with them before they happen. Don't be silly and imagine that mistakes never happen, because life doesn't wok out that way. Also, the rabbit might have no interest in a dog, so you have to be prepared to watch the signs and not force things.
