That's true to some extent, it is boring to watch because half of it just them running around and looting items. I found myself enjoying apex stream more when I become more familiar with the game; I try to play it. Getting to know the items, the map, the abilities. After that their earlier conversation become more meaningful. Their conversation about ring placement, where to go etc, contain lots of information. Of course you can also try to see multiple pov of the same game to know what's happening. There is also someone who made a narration clip "history of vtuber apex tournament" following several different team pov.

Depends on how you play it. Streamers who are really good at the game take every fight that they see. On higher ranks and tournaments like these there tends to be a huge downtime because everyone is scared on dying early and not getting any points. Also apex is crazy huge in japan which is why tournaments like these are pretty common. People watch the tournament to root for their favourite streamer/team is part of the fun of it.
