Russel has his flaws and so on, but that little scene speaks clearly about him. Maybe not the smartest guy around, but he's kept his humanity in this crazy circus. Good for him.
I never Thought of it like that But that viewpoint is quite profound. This video starts with a clip of norm looking rough, and my first thought was to remember how sick he was, and then knowing that I saw him have the time of his life for ~30 minutes, and the first comment I saw was yours… serendipitous
I only get this incredible degree of mixed emotions when I watch Norm and when I watch/listen to personal accounts of soldiers who have been to hell and back and lost it all to try to keep our homes safe My eyelids are constantly burning to the touch
Looking back at his older content, there were definitely times whenever the reality of Norm's situation was brought out, probably, unexpectedly. But you can see in those moments the hints of seriousness and realization in his expressions and dialog. Hope you're resting easy, Norm

The weight gain makes sense now. My 6 year old son was just diagnosed with leukemia. Its a side effect to the first batch of drugs. Steriod mainly that cause quick weight gain.
I remember listening to the Todd Glass episode the night it was released. The fact Norm set him up to get high after the Getting Doug with High thing and then just called him out the whole episode killed me. I reminds me of a work prank, he laid out the trap and Todd fell right into it.
I would absolutely love to know how Norm and Russel Brand got close enough that he was a guest on the guys show, man they just seem like such different circles
It goes to show how perceptive Russel Brand is for him to question if Norm was having a “Crisis about mortality”. I don’t necessarily agree with everything Russel says in regards to politics or the solutions the world needs, but damn is the guy switched on and has a special ability to connect with people.
And I’ve scrolled to see how many other people essentially made the same remark. Rather than worry I’ve not made a unique point, I’m quite happy to say it looks like there’s something to what we have said.
