Opie wasn't the talent. He was a good straight man that set up Ant to knock it outta the park. Ant was the talent hands down. Opie was the business guy with radio experience, that's it. Anthony always stole the show just being himself, Opie was better off letting the talent shine.
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 That's not true back in the WNEW days, maybe you were a satellite listener, as per your 'everybody' designation. He was worse on satellite, but the earlier days he was always setting up Anthony, and Norton wasn't there in the way of anything. And Norton was in the way, but he got a lot better as Opie became less interested and more bitter. The WNEW days were where the gold was, they were on fire and stomping Stern into the mud, without even trying, just being themselves. The Opie hate was non-existent back then, they were well oiled machine and kicking much ass. It wasn't the Anthony show.
@@RmnGnzlz Which is disgusting especially from Jimmy who's a fellow comic (albeit many tiers below Norm) when Norm always gives the absolute funniest interviews and best radio/podcasts.
Lil Jimmy doing his best Chris Kattan, frothing at the mouth to blow Brock Lesnar; "Norm get out of here! Gosh you're gonna ruin everything, oh Brock put it in my mouth you're so hot!"
she's not funny. where is she now? where is the other not funny , midling hot jewish chick, amy shumer? you rarely see the funny women comics. instead, we get whitney cummings, blonde hair big boobs, and tig notara.
Kevin Carbone You can’t make a statement about some episode being the best ever after only hearing two episodes. Patrice was amazing on O&A, which is why he was featured in sooooo many episodes. I’d love to hear Patrice & Norm shoot the shit together with only an occasional throw in from the other guests haha
At 23:38, it's a hilarious story, but it also suggests Norm knew about his cancer as early as humanly possible and we got to have him a lot longer than we would have otherwise. RIP Norm. You were an enormous gift!
What’s crazy is that, at least according to what’s been put out, that this was one year before he was diagnosed with the cancer that killed him. I believe he had health issues his entire life though
Jimmy was only ever good for the occasional snappy one liner. Since he had his own show he does the same shit bit without the panic since it’s his show. Porn stars and UFC fighters for days.
Google User Well, Ant wants you to believe that back then he was super excited to have the gig but I would also attribute that behavior to coke. Not that it’s a bad thing. Humans need their coke phase and Ant’s was back then. And god bless him for it :)
Jim Norton being (existing) is ironic. Almost as if God has a cruel sense of humor, not because Jim looks like a shell less Turtle mind you, but because the rest of us have to listen to his unfunny jokes
@DB Cooper's MoneyBags Who said need? I like how Swype lets me quickly get my point across with one thumb. If I offend some loser nobody along the way oh well.
Too bad he was probably the Worm who bumped Norm for Brock Lesnar. MMA is fun to watch but interviews with them could be replaced with dead air. I really hope his autograph collection melts in a fire.
@@leahcimolrac1477 bless you good sir, even if you're joking and don't dislike Norton (which I really hope isn't the case), it warms my heart just to hear an unkind word about that celebrity ass-sucking, shitty character having, sharkticon face-looking, smug little turd! I don't think I've ever gone from liking to hating anyone, faster than Norton. But after you start peeling the onion, and get past the thin layers of phony anger, and self loathing, you realize it's all a charade. The only thing worse than a pompous celebrity, are the "tortured artists" (like Howard Stern or Jim Norton) who try to hide how far up their own asses they are. Add in all the chasing down celebrities for selfies/autographs, and the on air meltdowns when something doesn't go his way, and you have yourself a real POS! I could go on forever... I didn't even get into the disgusting display that is Jim discussing "his process" of development on those awful characters like Doug Bell. And NO, it's not funny on the surface, ironically, or if you try to pull some "double ironic/non comedy" bullshit... it's unfunny on every level, in every dimension of the multiverse. And in closing, I could definitely go without hearing that stupid "yuck" sound, or "it stinks" ever again (which you know damn well he ripped off another older, better comedian. It just feels like something from a different generation than his)
@@scottbaylo it's Colin Quinn he ripped off, and I hate his shit head fans who in 2021 say chip shit like it's hilarious. Watch the worm has turned doc on him by porsalin
Cause she’s a fame whore who hides the left side of her face despite not having scarred herself. We get it! Some weirdo slashed you when you were 5 it’s a tragic thing, but you’re gonna give that monster the satisfaction of you NEVER showing the left side of your face for LIFE?!?
Thank you for the great clip, it provides my two favourite things: O and A and Norm...It would have been perfect if Bobo had popped in that day, I would love to see how Norm would react to that!..
Wow I never knew Norm was on O&A! Netflix just released his last special and it was filmed infront of his computer by himself and it was still amazing. Only he could do that. Such a legend and is always missed ❤💔
The only time Norm was ever on the show, and it was an unforgettable listen. You can just feel the energy is different from beginning to end, no one else like Norm.
The end is a comedy in itself with Brock Lesnar complaining that he got up too early and Norm being shoot out of the studio in one of his only appearances that ended up being an instant classic. Jimmy looks really bad here and I'm a big Jimmy fan. Sorry people are trying to take pictures Jimmy
I love Norm more than any comic ever, and always will, but Norton telling Colin why are you yelling at me, we hate the same people is true genius among the Genius.
The whole time Norm withheld the fact that he had a death sentence. He kept that inside and just laughed at the whole concept of death, dying and disease and made everyone laugh. Norm wasn't just a legendary comedian, he was a legend as a human being. Maybe even a saint, if you believe in that kind of thing. I personally think it's a bunch of horseshit. But he's a good man.
Norm in a way predicted Anthony getting fired and his own death. I’m sure glad Jim Norton kicked him off the air so that he can take pictures with Brock Lesnar.
Wish he went on more! You could tell he sincerely appreciated being in an environment like this, where he was understood and didnt have to battle normies the whole time
