This video explains the unit of concentration of solution known as Normality with examples. You will also learn how to calculate equivalent mass, number of gram equivalent of a solute.
Problems explains:
1) 15 g of H2SO4 is dissolved in water to make 1250 ml of solution. What is the Normality of the solution?
2) 50 ml of 0.2N HCL, 50 ml of 0.1N H2SO4, and 100 ml of 0.2N HNO3 are mixed. What is the Normality of the resulting solution?
3) What is the Normality of 1M solution of H3PO4?
4) A 5 molar solution of H2SO4 is diluted from 1 litre to 10 litres. What is the normality of the solution.
5) NaClO reacts with H2SO3 as
NaClO + H2SO3 ----------- NaCl + H2SO4
A solution of NaCLO used in the above reaction contained 15g of NaClO per litre. What is the normality of the solution?
6) What will be the normality of solution containing 4.9 g H3PO4 dissolved in 500 ml water?
7) 4.0g of NaOH is dissolved in 100cc of solution. What is the normality of the solution?
