@@EytanKochyes it has if the texts are being followed. The. Court has accepted the case and called it ‘plausible’ pending further investigations. Plus common sense does, actually.
@@wolfiesown Not sure if you are trying to gaslight or just mislead. Either way, stop. You know as well as I do the court hasn't ruled on the merits yet. And there is a presumption of innocence in international law. Calling it plausible is not calling it genocide. Of course it's "plausible". Look at how open the wording of the Genocide convention is: "in whole or in part". I mean, one person being killed could be considered "in part". So yes, it's plausible. Big deal. As I stated, the court HAS NOT RULED ON THE MERITS, so no. International law has not called it a genocide. And to your second point: "Common sense"? Really? Then why even have courts of law? Let's just have courts of "common sense". It was "common sense" for 1000 years that heavier objects fell faster than light ones. Until Galileo proved it wrong. It was "common sense" in Germany in the 30s that Jews were the reason behind all of Germany's downfalls. No thanks. Common sense sucks. I prefer facts.
I have to confess that before this latest conflict, I believed that all Jews were supportive of Israel and their continuing atrocities against Palestinians. I have been so surprised by the disgust of so many American, UK and European Jews against Israel's actions.
hes one in ten! the vast majority of jews are racist, hatred, greedy and selfish people. they dont care for nothing but power and money. what amazes me is that after all of this killing people still dont realize this.
@@dianad1968The silent majority are with Israel. Like myself. Too bad you would be hard pressed to find a Arab or Muslim to speak up against Assad, who's family has ruled Syria for fifty years. Death and destruction in Yemen. Iran, that shoots civilians in the streets. Also, you blind to see, that this variety of opinions amongst Jews is a strength not a weakness. @@dianad1968we must always focus on the fact that there are good people with compassion and thirst of justice and there are those who find it easier to hate. Yes, please let's recognize, the enormous difference between, the very recent existence of Zionism (A Mid to late, last century, effort,1948, in Palestine, next to the centuries old peaceful existence between, to name only a few, Arab, Moslem and Christian factions) and the aged old much more peaceful existence between many different cultures. To be frank, European factions/Countries have, whether through design or worse, have through intentional ignorance created a path for Third World War atmosphere in the Middle East!

The US will talk about international law when it wants to say Iran is being an outlaw. The US will talk about international law when it wants to say North Korea is being an outlaw, Cuba is being an outlaw, Venezuela is being an outlaw. But international law is entirely different when it comes to what the US wants to do.
Yes, because they care so much about genocides and the brutal murder of innocent people that they refused to arrest Omar al-Sharif - the Butcher of Darfur -who killed 300,000 Black people and displaced 2,000,000 more. The International Criminal Court accused South Africa of violating international humanitarian law for that. Oh and they engineered it so they didn't have to arrest Putin either, also accused of genocide by the International Criminal Court. Yes, long live South Africa, who really couldn't give a crap about hundreds of thousands of innocent people and kids being genocided... unless the alleged crimes are committed by Jews.
Indeed, the Houthies are to be admired for their strength and honor in defending rights of Palestinians. They took a stand against world powers and have brought the plight of Palestinians to the global stage by interrupting trade... Seems the rest of the world was only interested in continuing global trade and saving the bottom line... The Houthies are doing the honorable thing... I'm not sure how you all manage to find the mental, emotional, psychological or even the physical energy to report and analyze these depravities each and every single day, but you're the true moral giants of our time, and I salute you all!
To Dr. Finkelstein’s point, also all of these independent media programs need to be credited. Without their coverage, nobody would know or care what’s going on.
As an Armenian with Palestinian grandmother- we suffered our own Armenian Genocide and twice been displaced, I am humbled honoured and grateful to the Great South Africa The bravest among the brave who stood up to the oppressor apartheid state, giving the children of Palestine voice and existence chance to live with dignity Thank you for the bottom of my heart I pray that you see this through to see united standing up against evil entities hiding behind the Holocaust, and using it as a weapon to gain impunity and manipulate the way through political agendas Which has started over 75 years before October7th
and Turkey continues to have ties with Israel and at least if Turkish comments on a video about why Muslim countries aren't supporting Palestine are representative of Erdogan's supporters, they still blame Palestine for the Arab revolt against Ottomans. I am a Muslim and what the Ottomans did you is completely unjustified and they should at minimum apologize and stop supporting Azerbaijan against Armenia. This is not about religion, it is about dictators like Erdogan and Nathanyu.
Palestinians are teaching us about resilience and patience. South Africans are teaching us about justice and empathy. The Houthis of Yemen are teaching us about courage and fortitude.
What a price to have Craig Mokhiber, Norman Finkelstein and young gun Katie Halper on the same panel talking sense. .. and when the moment of truth comes.. brilliant.
Wonderful Fireside chat with these lovely people! It occurs to me that at the heart of the heartless behavior of the hatred of the IDF and much of the Israeli population for the Palestinians is that they (the Israelis) know that they would never be able to endure what they put the Palestinians through! In addition to that---there is a genuine fear/terror that one day the Israelis will be confronted with and condemned for their brutality and their lack of compassion and Humanity.
With a warm and hard squeeze and a huge hug, with a very deep sense of gratitude, I THANK MY COUNTRY, SOUTH AFRICA, for standing up for the people of Palestine, and changing the course of history for a people near total annihilation., for standing up and taking the right action, whilst the rest kept debating, philosophising about a life and death situation, that just needed brave people to stand and say: "ENOUGH AND NO MORE, NO "BLERRY" MORE!!! @@bestcomsystems4458 I have fact checked about 5 or 6 of Norm's biggest lies. And that's really what they are. He's nothing more than a propagandist, and if you listen carefully, he as much as admits it. He talked to Glenn Loury about "winning over large amounts of people to, so to speak, the cause..." Cause? Historians shouldn't have causes. They should be objective and unbiased. he told Marc Lamont Hill: "Fair enough; fair enough. Katie , thanks a million, for your stance and for inviting Pr Finkelstein to your show and other people who can teach the world to differentiate between truth and propaganda. You’re doing a great job.
I feel bad about the Oct.7, attack on Israelis, but Netanyahu has gone beyond the pale against the long suffering Palestinians, who had nothing to do with Hamas actions.. He has wiped out the good will towards Israel. I have heard several people say they do not want to visit Israel now.
What a beautiful and important conversation. Norm Finkelstein and Craig Mokhiber keep shedding more and more light of truth against the darkness. Thank you, Katie, for hosting them.
Abdul-Malik Badruldeen al-Houthi, the Houthi leader, said to his followers back in 2009 that one day they would need to stand by the Palestinians, because no one else would ... and here we are
The worse of them all is that the Arabs, neighboring the Palestinians and Gaza, Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians have become cheering or silent spectators. These are worse among the Muslim and Arab nation. +200 million in number are these neighboring Arabs and they do absolutely nothing. My immense love for the Palestinians, children and women and the Yemenies (houthies). The poorest among the the Arabs is the best in showing empathy and compassion and even preparing to die for the Palestinians whom they sincerely called as their brothers and sisters. These are the true humane qualities that exist in the Yemenies and the true brotherhood that should be exhibited amongst the Muslims. The oppressed of the world loved the Yemenies (the Houthies)
! Saudi sends Food and weapons to Israel and NONE to the Muslims and Children in GAZA! The Kaba is now Null and Void in Saudi and no Muslim will be making haj to Saudi!
If Saudi Arabia cared at all about Islam or Muslims, they would immediately halt ALL oil sales to any country continuing diplomatic relations with Israel. They only use their perverted version of Islam as a way to control others. Even Iran, for all of what it is saying it is not openly doing anything. Egypt was even doing the thing Israel does with AIPAC and DMFI but instead of buying Rep. Menendez to support Palestine, they only asked him to sell stuff to Egypt only. These countries don't even need to fight, they can create political chaos for the IDF in the US by funding candidates who oppose Israel with completely legal PACs.

@@penyarol83 the qualities you mention, humanity and empathy are the cornerstones of civilization. Whithout, a civilization devolves and whatever passes for civilization is hollow and amounts to consumerist trappings.
@@FrancoisMouton-iu7jt I actually think civilizations by definition suffer from a lack of those qualities. Surprisingly, it is actually hunter-gatherer societies that have a high level of those pro-social qualities, and civilizations that as a rule are degraded from that original state of health and wholeness and show increasing levels of violence and social dysfunction. See, e.g. Dr. Peter Gray's article "How Hunter-Gatherers Maintained Their Egalitarian Ways."
