I wasn’t gone watch if they didn’t decide to let her perform. That choreography is giving me life and a flashback of the greater time of music, dancing, natural beauty of the 90s &00s
She is criminally underrated and it pisses me off how she’s not a bigger artist. I want her to have a blow up as big as Doja Cat, Meg, and Chloe x Halle. She sings, dances, gorgeous looks, and has amazing personality. The full package that the industry won't let her deliver!!
Honestly tho, she may have a great personality but as a fan I really don’t see it. I know she can sing, dance, she has the talent but she doesn’t connect with her audience. Of course we never truly know these stars but she has to start marketing herself… Edit: “start” to “stars”
I definitely agree she needs to work on marketing herself and getting out there in the public more (i.e. social media) bc that's a huge part of building fan engagement these days. Meg, Chloe x Halle, Doja Cat grew huge fan bases so quickly and loyally in part of the effort they put into personal live streams and social media antics. Doja Cat was a live streaming queen and look how far it's taken her. I want Normani to have a big win and I hope she realizes that she can/needs to give her fans more than just music to root for and we'll support it. @@coquigirl0789
The fact that RCA records is not taking her seriously is just stupid! Normani has a voice that is not like others who have gone mainstream. And she has a great vision of what performances looks good and how to pull it off.
@@guttocgBeyoncé is not on rca and no she did not black list her lmao idiot Beyonce has nothing to do with it… it’s either she’s dark skinned or her management Beyoncé do not care. They let a fat dark skinned girl name lizzo in so eyonce ain’t blocked no on
@@guttocgrca is a colorist/racist label, everything they are doing to normani they did the same with sza. the issue is not bey, its the industry, they hate seeing darkskin women thrive
The VMAs really thought little of her. She ended being the MOST TALKED ABOUT performer of the night. Even stayed on top of Trending Topics on Twitter. You can’t deny her star power! 🤍
@@belencanizares8161 so do most singers now a days. The vmas has always been about visuals not vocals. If you want completely live vocals go to a battle of the bands at your local rock club. Most awards show performances these days have pre-recorded vocals.
The more I watch it, The more I get it. I’m finally understanding her as an artist. People keep saying she needs to find her sound. But she can’t be boxed in. She can do whatever music she wants to. Pop, R&B, Soul, hip hop. Etc
Yeah I feel like she has always had a very distinct style that transcends genre. But just because it’s more understated and smooth people try to disregard her. She keeps outdoing herself I’m so excited for her
I'm simply amazed that Normani and her team pulled this performance off in ONE WEEK and STILL had one of the BEST performances of the night. Please give us a behind-the-scene video of the work. 💯⭐🔥🔥🔥
HERE, HERE. Some other channels try to be shady and say it's not giving, but people don't understand simple elegance is a powerful thing. And the fact she pulled this off in a WEEK....give this girl her props
It’s completely lipsynced. The vocals is a pre recorded track 😂 No one can dance that well and sing flawlessly at the same time, you don’t hear a single breath here.
@@korslayhamilton8755 I genuinely do not hate Normani stop being dramatic. I’m simply just stating what it is. This is completely lipsynced. Go look up prerecorded live vocals since you clearly don’t know what that is. But anyway I’m moving on….
The best performance of the night, with only a transparent box as a prop. Normani is beyond captivating on stage, it’s obvious that she puts a lot of thought into EVERYTHING that she does. Nothing about this performance was boring, people are just used to be distracted by other nonsense. They don’t know when a true performer is on stage, if there aren’t flashing lights, props, and upbeat music. Mani and those amazing dancers filled the stage with crisp movements. I didn’t breathe or blink until the performance was over. Every time I see her perform, my eyes never leave the screen. Her whole demeanor changes when she’s on stage. That’s how you know she’s a natural performer, always poised and classy with a dash of sexy. I’ve seen her perform live twice and her mic was always ON.
I saw her opening for Ariana Grande on the first night of the Sweetener Tour and everything you said was spot on. She is electrifying like no others I’ve seen.
I love how out of the rest of the disbanded group, Normani has been the one to take the VMA stage multiple times and show case her raw talent. Absolute Queen.
@@nehemiahgary5548it very much was not lmao. like it’s so clear that she’s lip-synching. her volume and steadiness doesn’t match the dance moves she’s doing. plus there is plenty of spots where her mic is moved from her mouth and it sounds the exact same which is almost impossible cuz she’s doing a lot of dance moves that even beyonce would be tired from doing and not be able to give good vocals.
@@swendell9687 I actually ran up on a day ago. I was looking for some 90's music and her concert came up. I was like Janet is amazing. I think she would have taken my man that night.
I can't express in words how much I love and admire this woman, she deserves all the success in the world for years the industry didn't have such a talented and complete artist. mani understand you are legendary
Even though she had no time to prepare because of short notice, not even time for an elaborate set design and lights like the other artist SHE AND HER DANCERS KILLLLLLLLLLLT IT OMG I'M SO PROUD OF HER SHE IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE!!
@@cherrycherrylady1700 She's a choreographer and she's a singer, dancer and gymnast since eight years old lol. What is creative about you ?,who cares ha ha
This performance was PERFECTION. Her breath control, her dancing, her singing, her focus, the outfit, the payed homage to the 90’s and 2000 artists it’s inspired by. Normani baby, you are a absolute POWER HOUSE 🔥 unfuckwitable 🤌🏾 wish her nothing but more success ! Not many can say they can do what she does !
NORMANI HAD THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT! Actually executed her choreography. Blessed us with her whistle tone note - BABY GOT RANGE. Trended no.1 worldwide at one point. Best dressed on the red carpet. Now THAT'S how you rise to an occasion. Proud fan. 💕
@@ArvinJWilliams Yet here you are quick to comment as soon as she posts her performance that you didn’t like… how about you go look at something you do like instead of trying to bring other people down cause your own life sucks.
YOOO the videographer for her performance (and the whole show) was terrible. Like the had the worst shots of her. Still, she looked amazing which is a true testament to her ability.
This performance made me breakdown in tears , to honestly see such a humble woman . And her being the the times of 2021 and making us feel like we in 97’ it’s just amazing seeing the futuristic Aaliyah undertones TLC sliver from no scrubs. To Janet. Also being an artist of your OWN! It touches in a real , “ these are my icons . This is what they taught me” really opened doors and also Normani will open doors for others too .
Holy shit, her vocals were INCREDIBLE in this, so stable even with all of the demanding choreography. And the call back to Janet Jackson at the end!! So amazing
1:05 - 1:07 the mic is away from her mouth but the vocal still sound the same? Hmmmm.... Normani is an amazing performance but why should she use pre-record audio? she doesn't need it. she literally can sing LIVE..Come on..overall I love this performance.
She dances like Aaliyah and sounds like Toni Braxton mixed with Brandy!!!! Baby I’m a fan 4 life now!!! I’m 37 this is what I remember as a baby girl watching 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
She's a performer, she is destined to be on the TV screen, she's a dancer I loved it I wish we could hear more of her music because she's destined for success she just is.
Normani was the best performance of the night hands down. This is the star quality we have been missing and needing for a long time. Thank You for being You, Mani!
Is anyone else mesmerized by the opening number? The intro instrumental is STUNNING. I want it to be a piece of a song on her upcoming album so badly. Normani's voice is like a chameleon; she can literally do any type of genre.
Normani delivered a polished, smooth, cool and professional choreography! Whistle Registry was also a treat! Thanks to the fans and artists that stand with Normani to make this happen! Great Job, Normani!👏🏾🥰💐😎
I still can’t believe she wasn’t going to perform at first . We would of missed this Iconic performance and I’m so glad the Nation and GP fought for her to perform. We love you Normani 🤍
She performed because Nicki dropped her spot not because of her fans.. it’s cute to imagine that that’s the reason why she got to perform but if the show is booked, it’s booked. She wasn’t getting in without Nicki opting out
@@lilyvega7831 stop feeding your little fantasies babe. Go worry about nicki spreading anti vax propaganda instead of being under a NORMANI performance. The amount of artists who were announced AFTER NORMANI yet you don’t want to talk about that. Nicki is about to go to jail for harassing her husband’s victim: WORRY ABOUT THAT B
I’m so happy she took her time because she’s really cultivating her own style that is so needed. It shines even as she references people as iconic as Aaliyah and Janet. Her sexuality is expressed in such a sleek, clean, creative way. And the vocals are just plain pretty. I’m in love lol
What did Nikki say???? "Normani Is That Bihhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" !!! I loved it. This was the best performance. People keep counting her out and she keeps showing up!!!!!!! Yass. I wish nothing but greatness for this talented flawless woman.

The part with her and Teyana isn’t that bad as everybody was making it seem like, the performance overall it was actually very great. The choreography was on point along with her vocals.
2:32 vocal run is on point, I mean every single performance of Normani has a good vocal run .It's getting better ,she has improved a lot. She has a wide range, she better use it.
I feel HER and Chloe after seeing have mercy are changing music again and taking it that next level …. and the fact it’s bringing back that sexy filthy SMOOOOTH RNB vibes back . I’m loving it …. And DOJA CAT Ofcourse 🙌🏼
@@BlaQSheep why is she trying to be somthing she’s not ? if you are comparing it to when her and her sister was together that’s ridiculous lol same way as destiny’s child was clean cut then when Beyoncé went of on her own she just exploded . Ever since I saw Chloe and Halle I could always see there was a fire burning deep inside Chloe. Like she had this flithy sassy diva waiting to bust out . The way she use to look into the camera like she was having sex lol I think truely think this is her and is about to elevate like nobody’s bussiness 🙏🏻
the thing these bashers never seem to understand is how hard the choreography is to be performed, and the funniest part is majority of them aren't even dancers but literally coming to normani. 🤡
@@MistaMuzikTV2 you sure your not delusional because your the only troll here making excuses that are pointless with no proof how about spending your the time u wrote that trash and find yourself a life worth living
No but can we actually fucking talk about this ??? She sang perfectly with no breathing into the microphone at all times while dancing around all over the stage, hit Perfect whistle notes ANDDDD TWERKED UP ON A WOMEN 😩😩😩
I think it was playback to be honest. No hate to her of course, I understand that when you’re doing intense choreography it’s hard to sing, so lip syncing can be necessary.
Also I noticed that sings on live tweak the song alot so she sings a part and the original sings another part and they can go back and forth so she can really get air during that time.but that still doesn't change the fact that she is singing while she is dancing and still having that control so she definitely killed this.
@@heavymetalkendra she messes up her own lyrics at the second chorus. they would've made her re record. and you can hear the mic make popping noises. but even so, she still gave us a great show.
Normani really is talented. The vocals and the dance.... Ti at the end was on the wild side for 15secs ... I don't think it deserved that much out rage. She deserves more than she is getting from the industry.
I hav bin praying she makes it up to this real level ...thx to Normani..u really made it lov yah...indeed they shud give her more than a million pounds
Only reason I can undetrstand SOME of the rage is because if it was Lil Nas, he would have been bashed left & right. So double standard is real. However-and I really need the people to get this-IT'S NOT HER FAULT.
@@joshuabauman1431 they definitely are. You can clearly hear when she’s out of breath and her voice over the prerecorded track. But to the untrained ear, I guess it sounds like lipsync
