Norse Paganism | Honoring Freyja 

I found my connection with Freya after 2 miscarriages in a 1 year period. I called to her and asked for help in conceiving and having a boy. She answered and my husband and I have a beautiful baby boy named Björn. He will be 7 months on the 19th. I have never been more grateful to a god or goddess than I have to her.

2 years after discovering my faith/my first vision from Freya, I was jobless and struggling. I made an offering to her asking for a job that would serve both my faith and secure my finances. A month later I got a job for a framing company that mostly builds low income and veterans housing. I carve her rune into every home I’m a part of building.

Freyja has helped me gain so much confidence in myself within the year I've been practicing Norse Paganism it's crazy. I love the duality she has of being strong yet tender hearted. She's the kind of woman I strive to be every day. Thank you, Jacob!

The thing I've learned since I've been working with Freyja is that the most important thing is to keep love in your heart and don't let misfortunes or tragedies make you give up on love. There are many forms of love in a person's life, all of which are important, but when you give up on love, you make yourself empty.

My connection to the lady came about right before I became pregnant with my second son. My first ritual with her was a conception spell. I found out about my son a month later. As my pregnancy progressed, so did my connection to the norse gods thus starting me on this path 5 years ago now. Oh, and my son's name is Arthor. :)

I'm very new to norse paganism and, oddly, simply the thought of Freyja brings a smile and warmth to my heart. I've also been strangely compelled to leave a ring of flowers on my altar as well. I'll gladly continue to honor her in what small ways I can! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us!

When I was around 3 or 4, I had an 'imaginary friend, that was a bumble bee. I always cherished that memorie, even to this day. Freya was the first Norse Diety I ever came in contact with and I named my cat after her. This was when I was when I was around 27 (I'm 40 now). She helped me through accepting my infertility and divorce. But now hearing you tell that bumble bee's are one of Freya's signs, I wonder if Freya was there with me even before I knew. 🥰

Freyja was the goddess who brought me to becoming a Norse Pagan. I was working on my license to become a massage therapist and was doing some meditation and aura healing. I had just had a surgery where I lost one of my overies and hadn't fully gotten over the fear of never having a child. During this meditation, I felt a comforting but strong motherly precense telling me it was okay. She told me I was where I was supposed to be. And healing would come. I am still a woman and have not lost touch with my own connection to devinity. This experience brought me into Norse Paganism. And I have never looked back since.

Just a little help here as I’m fluent in Swedish. We say Skål for Cheers as in when congratsi ceremony. Not as a thing when ending a convo or email. We say Hejdå for Bye, and in emails we write MVH which is Med Vänliga Hälsningar. Skål is used mostly in drinking ceremonies. And not pronounced Skull. It’s more “skohl”. The oh part is the å.

I find it very interesting Jacob that you've chosen to focus on Freya more this year as I have done the same. My wife and I are expecting a little girl in August and we are naming her Freya. I've been making more Freya idols lately too as a result and finding myself speaking to her more often. You see we tried for the last 4 years for children and unfortunately we'd always lose the pregnancy. This time I bought my wife a Freya necklace for the pregnancy and prayed to Freya as much as possible. We are now expecting a healthy girl, so we only felt it right to name her Freya.

Freyja sent me a cat, after the last of my dogs left me. A kitten born under my bedroom, on my birthday. I named that cat Gebo, since I recognized the gift. ( Gebo was only 4 or 5 weeks old when she showed up on my back step. )( I don't remember the exact day she showed up. It was an unpleasant time. ) I am second generation German Saxon, BTW.

Thank you so much for sharing these videos about Freya, I am soaking them up! We have been on a six year fertility journey after the birth of my first son (8). We did everything we could possibly think of, including a failed round of IVF. Then I started clearing space in my life and coming back to my authentic self, and I began having dreams of a baby girl. In the first dream we were sitting under a Christmas tree and she was sleeping in my arms, she wordlessly told me her name was Freya. I woke up feeling so much longing and love for her. We were about to give up on IVF after a second failed round, and then a miracle happened - our doctor offered a different path of a double round of IVF and said he would pay for it if it didn't work. I truly feel it was Freya's influence that opened up this new way for us! We went through that in April and retrieved a total of 28 eggs, with five normal embryos, all of them high quality. We transfer our first female embryo on June 9th and will be naming her Freya. Ps. I wasn't a cat person before, but just in the last year we adopted a blue eyed white kitten named Pearl, who had then had 6 kittens of her own around the time of the IVF. We are keeping one, so now we have 2 cats. There was so much fertility and cat magic around this successful round. So grateful for Freya's presence in my life.

I am proud to say that my wife and I welcomed Freyja into our lives just over 13 years ago. Freyja is our beautiful 13 years old daughter !!!! Unfortunately, did not get to call our son Odin, Thor, Tyr or Loki.

I am actually a practicing Wiccan, still in the baby witch stage. I have been invoking the power of the goddess Ceridwen for months and suddenly when I went into a meditation, my soul suddenly spoke the name Freya. I was taken aback because it was so sudden. Immediately I began watching your videos and many on the goddess. Then last week I when I was leaving work I heard a bird in distress. I looked around and I saw a predatory bird (the sun was in eyes it was hard to make out what kind) flew over me with a smaller bird in its claw. It then soared down to the pavement and began to eat. It wasn’t until I heard these stories that I realized that was Freya truly making her way into my life and that it was time to welcome her with loving arms. Today I filled my cauldron with apples, a cinnamon stick and roses my first offering to her. I have had 2 experiences with Freya in my life. The first was when I was visiting my Swedish cousins at their lake house in Säffle, Värmland where my Swedish side of the family comes from. I had a chance to be alone at the lake by myself. When I was there, I saw a golden light appear on the water. A beautiful lady wearing a white dress appeared and said something to me that I will never forget. She said: "Find your ancestors, for they are here and have not forgotten about you. They aide you and guide you." Again, going back to the Ottar story and lineage. I had assumed it was a landwight until watching this video she revealed to me that it was her. Wow! That was 14 years in the making. My second experience is more adult, and I am not sure whether to share it, but here it goes! So, I have begun a practice of self-love (if you know what I mean) alongside guided meditation. In one of my sessions (I was not looking for a Freya moment btw) she said that if I had an altar to her that I could place my seed there in a bowl as an offering and she would aide me. She said "Get ready for a wild ride Mr." (In the most seductive voice I have ever heard). She said that she looked forward to our new relationship. I had received from warning signs from Odin and Thor telling me to know my limits with her and be careful, but still to continue. Wow! I have begun the process of making an altar to her. I have never prayed to Freya before, but last night I called to her on my hour long drive home from work. As I made a turn into the road before my driveway a brown fluff ball darted out in front of me, I slowed down immediately to a stop and in the grass looked up at me was a gorgeous fluffy cat. Keep in mind I live waaay out in the country miles away from any home except ours and it wasn't out cat. Let alone I was probably a good 7 miles away from my driveway so. I believe that was a sign that she heard me.

I've just recently realised Freyja has been calling me. I didnt know at first it was her, and did a guided meditation to open myself up to whoever was trying to communicate. I had an extremely beautiful and emotional 'vision' with Freyja. And listening to this video and people's experiences, it has clicked she's been watching for a while now. My main deity is Hekate, but I know I can fully see where my journey with Fryja will lead without dishonouring my main Goddess. I am excited and humbled to start this journey 😊

Freya has been in my life before I knew she was there. She saved me as an infant. My birth mothers boyfriend smothered me with a pillow. I was brought back twice. It was her mothers love that saved me. I asked her one day to please show her self to me in my dreams she did. I was in a room full of beautiful kittens and I saw two dirty sick kittens crying in a corner. I picked them and washed them and took care of them. I felt her she was testing my spirit, seeing if I was worthy of her. I passed. Freya is a beautiful kind goddess and I love her so much

Rewatching this video reminded me of how much I’ve grown as a result of my work with Freyja. When I began I had no honour invested in myself, no self-respect or self-love, and was trapped in the cycle of trauma I had drowned myself in. But now I can say that I now feel like I’m riding the current and comfortable in my choice to always grow and choose myself first.

I was in a challenging situation a year ago where I ended up ending a pregnancy, I have seizures and I was suffering from an eating disorder at the time. My ex wanted the baby but I just couldn’t do it. After this I started to feel connection to freya. Almost as if she was saying it was okay. I discovered my sexuality, I found love with the best person I’ve met. Where we live now also gives me access to seeing a lot of birds and now having two cats and helping to take care of the strays out back. I feel more connected to her than ever. Almost she was gonna get me ready to have a child.

I spoke to her once. I had asked the seer a question and she came forward to speak with me. I was very surprised and honored. We have had cats live with us ( You don't own cats, they just choose to live with you) most of my life. The neighborhood cat often comes by to say hi.

I decided to honor Freyja while my cat was at death's door. I have a tiny statue for her and Odin and my offerings include sweet wine, coins, and rose incense.

I was having love troubles and randomly called out to Freya for help and was sitting there calling her name and I suddenly felt a holy presence! I went to bed that night and was woken up to a falcon screeching outside my bedroom window. It came as a huge sign that i was heard and Freya was with me, so i walked to a near by park and saw several young falcons screeching. I then drove to the store and got supplies and made her an alter 😅 i ended up being contacted by my love and spending time w them! ❤

She just raced into my life and I'm going to dedicate myself to her for a year and a day tonight under the New Moon. I usually connect strongly with female deities, but Freyja was a bit hard on me approaching her for many, many years, and like my 6 cats, when she's not in the mood for a human woman singing for her, she turned away. Now she's here... She came in the form of a huge red kite in front of my car last Sunday, the size of the bird was enormous and felt "otherworldly"... I'm not looking for a fertility goddess, but for the lady helping me learning Seidhr. I live in the forest, and there has been a female bobcat last night that scared my cats so much they all ran into the barn to hide and cover. So yes, Freyja is making her appearance here strongly, and I'm going to honor her pouring her mead and lighting a special candle tonight.

When I was trying to connect with Freyja, I began to see signs connected with Frey. And in meditation I sponteneously saw them together and felt Frey much clearer. Does anybody else feel them together? It was in February. Lately I suddenly have been interested in fashion, clothes and fragrances, see a lot of beauty 😊

I personally have not been blessed enough in my early walk in the God's to feel her presence. However I have had an amazing experience with Eir a few months ago.

Odin came thru for me first in a very intense initiation. Freya passively made an entrance right after him. I had to ask her for a sign she was actually initiating me. A day or two later while driving to work she came thru very strongly. A symbol of a Crescent moon appeared with the points of the moon upward like bull horns and the thick part at the bottom. Wondering if anyone else has had this symbol appear.

In my search for a deity the past few weeks none of them were sitting right for me and I tried to keep myself open to whoever I could feel and I found and began to read about Freyja and almost had to laugh. For weeks I’d had a random urge to collect cat art, cow art, and started keeping fresh flowers by my bed. Craving apples and honey. She was basically standing in front of the waving “HELLO IM HERE” the whole time

I remember your first video about Freya. It was at your old College campus. You were walking around and felt her presents and beauty at the fountain.

I am actually considering following the Norse spirituality even though I’ve always been interested in Celtic. The reason is two-fold. One being that during several meditations, where I wasn’t even thinking of Freya and Odin, I saw them both. During one of the meditations they invited me to ride in Freya’s chariot with them and were both very kind making me feel comfortable with them. The. During another meditation a woman lead me to a field of daisies where we laid down and just looked up at the sky enjoying nature. Lately I keep seeing Freya’s name and I’m wondering if she isn’t interested in me. My son is also Viking and he keeps telling me things that have also sparked my interest. If anyone sees this, I would love your opinions 💜

This point has been raised by wiser and more eloquent souls than me but I almost like the fact that there are gaps in the historical knowledge of our deities - in that we have a bit of wiggle room early on and don't feel disheartened if our experiences are not in lock-step conformity with a proscribed dogmatic "correct" spiritual path. I started working with Freyja last year, around spring time, ironically. I recently had found love, and am now married. My husband does Hatian spiritual work and was encouraging me to get back into my spirituality. I went in totally blind. Just started reading books, got into divination, but had a hard time connecting to the Tarot. I remember always being fascinated with runes, so I bought a set and began teaching myself. I was pursuing pantheons and trying to reach out and was getting nothing. Thought it was speaking to a fae woman of the Celtic pantheon. Got a bit more interested. Randomly I woke up one day, and Freyja's name was in my head. I did a reading, asked my husband to do a reading and sure enough, Freyja was the one reaching out the whole time. It's been a journey, but honestly I'm not surprised. Based on what you discussed in this video, I always used to hike in the mountains, lush green trails with waterfalls. Really always just felt at home in nature. Thinking back, 2014 I came across this same kitten in a parking lot next to my apartment I had at the time. That kitten is now my adorable fat cat. I kept encountering her, and she was lonely and ill. So one day, I was pushed to say to her that if I saw her again, I would take her home. Few days later, I took her home and she's been with me ever since. Now, I'm having a hard time honoring Freyja and working with her. Due to an information gap and these heathen groups have put me off with how many of them are disparaging towards women, POC and other marginalized groups and just never felt comfortable learning from them. Do you or anyone here know where I could turn to to grow my knowledge and experience, other than books and the like?

One thing about offerings that Freya told me to do. Living in a dense and very urban city in southwestern Spain, she told me NOT to leave any offerings for the gods. She told me to give at foodbanks, instead, to help others. Again, it's just my own experience. Never dogma.

I love your Gods and Goddesses series. Informative and well made videos. As I started out in Druidry, the Vanir are gods that I am learning to connect to. When I started my magical journey, I connected to trees, land spirits, animal spirits, and the elements. I guess that was my magical training, but I am now still becoming familiar with the Gods and Goddesses....even after 10 years. I look forward to making it to a gathering. Love and good vibes.

Thanks for the work! I have that god's own book too and it really helps me with making offerings. I usually speak from the heart but that book has great prayers in it so you can just get in there and do it without wondering off on tangents or stumbling through words. It's also helped me 'target' specific gods (like freya) and I made an offering of strong beer to Odin's sons and the all father himself. I made my first offering to Freya about 3 weeks ago and it's was some of my home made muslie lol I think I will use honey next time!

I believe freyja had alot to do with me conceiving my son. We casted our circle to do a fertility spell for my friend, but I'm the one 24 weeks pregnant with a beautiful baby boy that I'm naming after a norse god. Mímir.

Heilsa, fellow Heathen! I, too, have been feeling a strong urge to devote more attention to Freyja. I will be constructing a new outdoor altar, wooden supports holding up a particular piece of granite stone, to replace the one that the elements have degraded. After I assemble it, I will carve certain runes and symbols into it (similar to the previous one) but Freyja's rune, Berkano, will also be featured prominently. I will also be conducting more rites to honor Her, after this project is completed.

About a year ago, Freya appeared to me during a meditation. She had the most beautiful, iridescent feather covering. It looked like each feather was a rainbow of something like stained glass. Each was outlined in white. Head to toe and enough to wrap around the entire body. She said nothing but radiated the most intense feeling of love I have ever felt.

I recently found and welcomed Freya..I am happy with my choice☺

I had a very interesting encounter with a hawk that was living in my apartment complex that I caught on video. I was walking to the store and the hawk was perched on a handrail next to the sidewalk I was walking past. I got out my phone and got video, even approaching it without it flinching. I wonder if this was a sign from Freya well before I even looked into Norse paganism. I first connected with Freya when I was in Denmark, there i saw falcons, swallows, ladybugs, honeybees and I made her a little shrine in my room with a hawk feather and carnelian among other things.

In terms of Freya & honey/bees, I remember reading somewhere (possible UPG) that the names for Freya's cats are Bygull & Tregull. Those supposedly mean bee-gold & tree-gold, aka honey & amber.

She's a great God to call to while training. It's easy to forget her connection to warriors. Atleast in my experience.

I connect to Freya through my art. A different form of creation. Even being with my cat is time also given to Freya. As I am unable to conceive, Freya has shown me alternative forms of creation and being a caregiver. Also, after my divorce, opened me to the potential of being a stepmom. If ever she sees it in the cards for me, I would love to be a stepmom. I've already taken the mom role for a couple of friends who had been disowned by their own mothers for being LGBT+

I was trying to work with Thor for a little bit at the start but felt drawn to freyja for some reason. Did a meditation last night, just with a candle. Went into a trance like state, and I felt she showed me to build an altar. So this video kind of confirmed that. It's to have a better connection with her. And not in a demanding way.

I've been looking into the Norse gods as a way of life and it seems like it's no different than any other religion when it comes to the signs of the gods. Pure psychological effect

I am just now discovering my connection with paganism and Freya. When I was newly married, I felt the calling to have a child. We tried for two years before I was finally able to have a beautiful baby girl. I felt drawn to the name Freya as her middle name. Now after losing my ability to conceive due to ovarian cysts at the age of 23, I feel I was blessed by Freya to have my sweet little girl in my life.

Finally the Truth 💗.

Freya is one of four goddesses I work with, I'm an eclectic pagan so all 4 are from different patheons (2 are from different Celtic pantheons, but as we know, Celtic is VERY broad and it wasn't all one pantheon hence the distinction). Freya helps me with divination and magic, but she's also helped me in reconnecting to my body and seeing myself as beautiful. To reconnect to the more sexually independent sides. I've been doing more glamour magic and it's helped my confidence a lot. I experience her kind of like....the kind of mom you're really close to, supportive and warm. Until you cross her boundaries. This is why I think she's been associated with cats, as not only were they associated with witches (being a völva, Freya is a witch in many ways), but also they're consent animals. Cute and fluffy and cozy and warm, but you can only touch them when they want, how they want, and if it's not in any way they like they will tell you they will go to the point of violence if you don't listen.

I definitely feel connected to Freyja with hawks, especially after confirming she was reaching out and rare hawks in my state started flying overhead and closer to me. Thank you for the information about her! I plan to read both the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda. I wonder if there are any "problems" working with Freyja and The Morrigan?

At first; thanx for theese 3 videos about Freja (as we pronounce her in danish). It´s one of the biggest mysterious subjects to investigate in the Nordic myths, exactly because the sauces says so litle about her. But therefor it´s extremly important to dig deeper in the short sayings. F.eks: Freja is said to be a pig (Her name Syr means a She Pig a pendent to her twinn brother Frigg´s "Gyldenbørste"). (Thats a long other storry about twinn sex and gender deities in the early times of religion in Scandinavia). To day after a thausand years of demonizing the love godess it means "a nasty hore" but in those days (as early as from the bronze age) it meant "The giving deity". (Look at the female pig, she has 14 breasts and a LOT of children) and to day in Denmark and in Scandinavia everybody especialy in the periode near christmas (Yole/jul) we eat pig-meat processed in every other way. Any way, in my opinion (and in my heart), she is the descendent of the Mother Godess Nhertus (original wife to Njord), that was worshiped in The antique Scandinavia. Thats why she is easy to connect to. There is an other explanation: Remember: She IS the love Godess - and LOVE is the strongest and mightigest force in the unoverse. It holdes it together. I've been digging out stuff about nordic and Fnnish folklore, and I stumbled upon your videos few days back. It's been a fascinating and weird trip so far and my mind is blown :) I mean, I'm from Finland, we still practice some old ancient traditions in our daily lives, the nature is everything for us, we tell the old stories and myths to our kids and even in the holiest Christian Finn, there is the small pagan living in him... and still, my mind is blown that there is an actual active religion honoring the old gods. I think it's amazing but at the same time my brain is trying to figure out how one can just start believing something ... well, something like this. And I mean no disrespect, I just can't wrap my head around this. And the skål thing. I'm originally from Swedish speaking municipality and here skål is not used like cheers in english, eh, to end discussion so to speak, it is only for toasting and raising your glasses after inspiring graduation speech and such. It makes me smile when so many people yell "cheers!" after every other sentence :) Anyhow, keep up the great work. my first interaction with the vanadis i was thuggin hard in the streets and in exchange for worship and promising my generations freyja kept me out of prison and even protected me from harm that i never asked for.

I had a dream where Freyja and I were each married to a king these two kings were feuding brothers that only had one kingdom. Each king would take in turns raiding and invading the kingdom and handing it over to his wife. Frejya and I were fed up with this. We were not feuding so together we gathered the people, revolted against the two kings executed them, shared the throne together helping the kingdom recover and improve.

Hello. Recently I was told that Freyja has been in my life for the past 18 months as a protector and someone who brings other guides in to help me. Does this sound like something she would do? As far as birthing, I am not looking to birth a human child anymore, but I am in the process of changing my job, so birthing a new occupation. My husband noticed we had a falcon around our property starting around 18 months ago as well. In the last 8 months, 4 ravens have made our property their home too! I know ravens are a sign of transformation, so a confirmation for me that I am on the right path on changing occupations. I would like to add some items to my alter for Freyja, but not sure where to start. Instead of carving, would it be ok to buy a statue of Freyja? I believe your video showed up in my youtube feed for a reason as I have not searched for Freyja yet. Thank you!
