No better sound than a radial engine.

The sound after it leaves the ground at 4:29 is similar to that of a fighter jet with the way it echoes making it sound like the whole atmosphere is making the noise. Can’t get enough of that ear splitting prop tip noise

Not many RC displays get the chance for the real thing to arrive, Sweet. the roar of the radial and the sound from the prop is awesome.

WOW! You don't get to see a Texan land on grass right in front of you everyday! Way cool! Thanks for sharing!!!

On the first pass the prop tips are not breaking the sound barrier. That's just the sound of the engine and prop. The buzzing sound heard from 4:20 to 4:47, that's the sound of the prop tips breaking the sound barrier. Some of the sound is echo off the trees and hills. It's hard to hear the sound from the propeller if you are in front or behind the arc of the propeller. When you are in the arc, you hear the sonic booms the loudest.

Same thing happens with FPV freestyle quadcopter drones. The overly powerful ones that have their prop tips go supersonic do that too and you hear the prop buzz the loudest when you’re facing the side of the quad

Saludos cordiales amigos !!!!

Is most of the sound coming from the prop tips breaking the sound barrier?
@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL
@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL 9 месяцев назад
Yeah, as the second the prop reaches full RPM and you’re facing the side of the plane, it drowns out the engine completely and rattles your whole body
@coolleo149

Actually no it's the propellers blade tips that were not going super sonic causing it to be loud.
@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL

They are and there’s proof of that. Not only there’s tons of proof bc of RPMs converted to tip speed, it’s also the sound. Just listen to how the sound echoes after it takes off. That sound has very similar characteristics to the sound of a fighter jet after it leaves the ground and you hear the crackle from it’s afterburner echo off the ground and making the atmosphere sound as if god is vacuuming. No other propeller plane comes close to being as loud. I saw one take off from 500 feet once and it’s almost if not as loud as a legacy F-18 hornet. It shakes your whole body and makes u cover ur ears. It also had that kind of echoing effect which made me think another plane was taking off at first until I realized it’s just bc how loud the T-6 was

If it is a Navy plane, then it is a SNJ, ( a SNJ-7, is this case) not a AT-6 !!!

Sorry if it’s marked as a US Navy it’s not an AT-6, it’s an SNJ, which is the USN designation
