Local construction companies getting stuff done are sometimes being paid not through local funding but by FEMA, who are seeking additional contractors that they can pay to get more stuff done. So it’s not just FEMA workers not wearing the coats, it’s also non FEMA workers only able to help due to FEMA funds

The media has even gone so far as to take footage of civilians rescuing the American citizens our government abandoned (who would have died) and claimed those people were from the government. They did this to some guys who rescued an 11 day old baby and a grandmother who were abandoned to die. They plastered the media with headlines that the NC National Guard rescued those people. That was a lie. If not for civilians doing the government's job, those people would have died. Civilians are still conducting most rescues, paying out of pocket for fuel at a cost in the thousands of dollars per day. That was FEMA's, and the military's job.
