Great video! We spent a night in Mill Lake after we retreated from the open water a few years ago coming back from Killarney. It's a decent spot for a short time, not a long time! The wind was so bad for a few days that we decided to retreat all the way back to Killarney. Docks! Bar! Laundry!
Hey Chris! I agree, Mill Lake is good for a night or two but there are many other spots we would rather be. Any kind of south wind can make leaving Killarney a challenge. I don’t blame you for heading back to Killarney. The lodge does some great drinks!
Courtney's mother lives on Middle Island across the channel from Snug lighthouse. We will definitely be spending some time there this summer on Non-essential Travel!!
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying them. For 2022, we are planning on 5 weeks in the North Channel again, 10 days either in the Massasauga or on the Trent Severn. And a bunch of long weekends. Can’t wait for launch!
We were hoping to head down by parry sound from the North Channel this summer but we will have to see how fuel prices go. Cant wait to find out who has the best fish and chips in all of GB and NC! Also out of interest what is the range of your boat? You made a good run between fuel stops.
Killarney to Parry Sound is a fantastic trip. There are a lot of good anchorages between there. Fuel prices will definitely be on everyone’s minds this coming season if gas does what they are predicting. For all the fish and chip places we have tried so far, don’t miss Gillys. Their Georgian Bay white fish is second to none. Although they are under new ownership this coming season so hopefully it continues to live up to its reputation. Paradiso has roughly 800-1000 mile cruise range. We burn just over 1 gal/hr at 6 knots. Most gas powered boats I’ve had in the past have 150-250 mile range. So midland to Britt in one run shouldn’t be out of the question for a lot of people. I think it’s just shy of 100 miles.
