Thanks! The funfair is located 100 meters into the Maranata road (entrance of HWY is at the edge of Sosua Abajo)

Is it better to take a taxi or rent a car traveling back and forth from Puerta Plata to Sosua to Cabarete and back?

The cheap way of taking public transportation is to use the "Taxi Publico" (a taxi that has random people jumping in and out along the way) or the Guagua (same situation) - you pay about RD60,- to RD80,-. Anyone staying here for 1-3 month's would usually rent either a scooter, ATV or a car and use this. If you keep hiring Taxi's just for yourself / friend, this will quickly mount up to a lot of money. In other words, there's a lot more in the Sosua área than "picking up girls". But let me warn that once you visit Sosua, you will want to come back.
