We also wanted to have them try the best sauces from the most respected regions in the US, so we reached out to LawLers Barbecue (Alabama), 12 Bones (North Carolina), Gates Bar-B-Q (Kansas City) and Rudy's Bar-B-Q (Texas) who agreed to come on board for this project.
(We tried reaching out to several places in Memphis but none were interested unfortunately. Sorry Memphis, we tried our best)
First, we wanna say this project wouldn't have been possible without 12 Bones, LawLers, Rudy's and Gates. These are already successful and respected businesses who could have told us they weren't interested, but they loved the idea of this project and having their local region represented. It was also awesome for us to be able to try all the different styles of sauces. Please show them your support and if you stop by one of their stores, tell them you saw our video:
-12 Bones (Blueberry chipotle sauce was Good Morning America's sauce of the year): tiny.cc/12bones
-LawLers (Red sauce was Northern Alabama sauce of the year): tiny.cc/lawlersbbq
-Rudys (A sauce even Texans like) - tiny.cc/rudysbbq
-Gates (classic, original, extra hot, sweet & mild): tiny.cc/gatesbbq

Taking leftovers home in America is common. People would more likely look at you as wasteful if you had left more than a few bites of food. That is why restaurants have so many to go boxes and bags. Take it home and eat it for dinner the next night. That is also something people don't understand about American portion sizes, we also like to take it home and have it for lunch or dinner the next day too :)
@digitalsoju
@digitalsoju 7 лет назад
It's not just leftovers (which is common in South Korea too), but like literally everything. Korean cuisine has a lot of side dishes (banchan) and almost nobody takes that home, so that's why people looked at her crazy. It's not the same thing as putting a burger and fries in a to-go box.
@devincook1396

So if someone had an unfinished steak that is ok to take home, but you're talking more about taking the free buns home too? @1412Bunny
@1412Bunny 7 лет назад
have you ever eaten at a korean restaurant before? they usually give like a dozen small side dishes for free to eat with your meal, it'd be unusual to take them home since they're small.

No I haven't, there are not any places that are close to me, so I have had to cook my own korean food at home. However now that you mention it, I have seen the amount of side dishes sometimes, so I guess I understand how it is different. I still would probably throw it all in a box and take it home though LOL. Waste not want not ;)

Geo Nif Gahaha you act as if your society is of perfection. Human behavior is a matter of circumstance, and I assure you any society being put in our position would likely be similar in nature. Just imagine your country as diverse as the US culturally and ethnically, these problem of obesity, opposing parties, flawed democracy, power projection, etc... is nearly because they were either given the opportunity, or happened to be the ones where it most likely would have happened. Gotta remember we citizens of the states are from Europeans. And those Europeans absolutely fucked over the native population and have done so much blasphemy ever since the beginning of civilization. So if you are trying to compare, you are just embarrassing yourself. Comparing populations is a nasty and irresponsible thing to do. Don’t think you are any better then us because you don’t have x problem or such, we are all equal in the general sense of humanity. But media loves to brainwash people into thinking Americans are some type of disgrace or terrible people. You just like to prioritize ours, as we could just as easily prioritize yours, and make fun of your society and blast on your problems as easily as you can blast on ours. Keep in mind everyone from the old world are “Americans,” (since we aren’t truly “Americans”) so you are really just making fun of yourself, stop being a damn hypocrite.

Before I moved to Austin, I worked at the Rudy's commissary (this was back in 2002 - 2004 or so) offa I-10 north of San Antonio (out by La Cantera and the Dominion) - where we made all the brisket, chicken, turkey, beans, cream corn, and so on. I was hired by Doc Hollywood despite showing up an hour late - nicest guy I ever met (and worked with), and didn't hold it against me that I was covered in tire dirt because I'd had a flat tire on the way there and had to change it. Best part of working there was the food. And even on my off days I'd comp pulled brisket (came with a loaf of bread) and sides for me and my friends, almost every week. Food was great (assume still is). Still remember how to make it all (and do when I BBQ).

anomaly.dab In general, most North Korean citizens are kind and warm-hearted people. Even North Korean defectors will back that up. Its the people who work for the government or in some sort of way connected to the gov't are the ones you need to avoid. When I visited Seoul, i met my friends who are from the North and they would happily tell me everything about North Korea. I figured they'd be sick of people asking but everything is so completely different that they would oblige in telling you about it lol. Don't be fooled by what the news tells you, that every single person from North Korea wants death to the western world when its only the governent and the higher ups of the people. The ordinary citizen, in the end, wants the two Koreas to reunify. The gov't on the otherhand does not want reunification. Simply because they'll quickly lose power from the South, the people will oust 'em once they completely figure out how technologically inferior and how completely bad they have it compared to their Southern counterpart, and the fact that they've been lying to their people since their inception lol.

As you say, the socialists in the media and government have finally made your life similar to the oppression of a communist dictatorship. Which has been their goal for decades. It doesn't matter that Wal-Mart employees are still alive and well, proving that it's been safe for people to go to work the entire time, but you still have to stay home because the government says so.
@Sixgunharlequin

@@customsongmaker Didnt understand most of your comment other than the ignorant finish to it claiming it's safe to be out when it's not.
@customsongmaker
@customsongmaker 4 года назад
@@Sixgunharlequin - do you understand that millions of Wal-Mart employees are still alive, even though they've been going to work every day while you were hiding at home afraid of germs? What about the employees at every gas station and grocery store? They go to work every day, and they're fine, which shows that your BBQ restaurant could've stayed open with similar results. Why can't you go to your favorite BBQ joint, if you can go to Wal-Mart? Because the media told you it's not safe, and the politicians told your BBQ joint they'd be arrested if they sold you BBQ. So when you compared your current situation to the horrors of North Korea, saying that your government-enforced loss of freedom makes you understand them, you were right. You're watching North Koreans doing something that you are not allowed to do. In North Korea, the government has complete control over what the people are allowed to do. Because the people don't have money or freedom, the government controls their lives. Socialists in our country have been working towards the same thing for over 60 years, and they're bragging on social media that Coronavirus is their victory. "I'm glad the lockdown shows that we can get universal basic income like we've been promoting for years." "I'm glad the lockdown is finally destroying capitalism." And the government also closed the churches, just like in other socialist takeovers from Cuba to China. Notice that states with Democrat governors have the strictest lockdowns and also the most coronavirus cases - partly because they ordered nursing homes to accept infected residents, which killed the other residents, which increased the numbers, which gave them a reason to tell you it wasn't safe to go outside, which convinced you to accept that your daily life could be stopped to a standstill whenever a politician says so. Thousands of weddings were cancelled, and people aren't allowed to go to their own grandmothers' funerals. Schools are closed, even though less than 1 out of every 10 Million children has gotten sick. The state of Maine has fewer than 50 coronavirus patients in hospitals, but over 100,000 people whose jobs have been closed by the government. This virus isn't fundamentally different from past viruses, so why is the response more drastic than anything in the history of the world? Logically it must not be about the virus itself. Why are the police arresting people for being outside alone? Being alone, it's impossible to infect anyone. But the police arrest the person, and the police aren't wearing masks, so they're willing to risk infection to increase government control. The priority isn't safety.
@Sixgunharlequin
@Sixgunharlequin 4 года назад
@@customsongmaker Its more contagious than most similar illnesses and has no treatment that has been shown to work. That in itself makes it fundamentally different. Grocery stores are working out because there are guidelines in place to limit how many people are around eachother at once. They have to stay open though because they're essential which isnt just a fancy word but is literally what they are. Without grocery stores or other food places able to deliver contact-free, people would not be able to eat. Someone not knowing the precautions put out by the businesses that have to stay open shows your ignorance and it's people with ignorance like yours that is reopening the country in the middle of the current peak rather than letting it run its course through the next peaks that will happen. That's how you make the spread if the virus worse than before.
@customsongmaker
@customsongmaker 4 года назад
@@Sixgunharlequin #1, 60 million Americans got H1N1 when Obama was President, and it killed more people, so you're the one who's ignorant about it being more contagious and more deadly. It's not. #2, Every Wal-Mart customer comes within 6 feet of the cashier, and then the cashier comes close to every other customer. Wal-Mart isn't any more essential than local small businesses that are forced to close. #3, Hydroxychloroquine is an effective treatment for over 90% of patients, but Democrat governors banned it without any medical or scientific justification. #4, social distancing was never supposed to decrease the number of people who get sick. The same number of people will get sick, but they wanted to "flatten the curve" and let you catch the virus next month instead of this month. So you're not saving anyone's lives, you're just patting yourself on the back while people die of thousands of other illnesses because most nurses have been laid off. You're actually bragging about shutting down doctor's offices and cancelling people's surgeries. You've actually just said that Wal-Mart is more essential than schools and doctors' offices and weddings and funerals. Have you stopped to ask yourself if maybe the media has tricked you into believing things that don't make sense?
