North South. Aral-Kazarman Road. Kyrgyzstan
The North-South highway connects the cities of Balykchy, Kochkor, Chaek, Aral, Kazarman and Jalal-Abad, with a length of 433 kilometers, is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan. Construction of the highway began in 2014. The Chinese Eximbank, the Asian Development Bank and the Islamic Development Fund became the investors of the project. The road is of great interest to China as well. The project allows China to create shorter transport corridors to Europe (the path becomes shorter by 500 kilometers).
