This is the easiest most effective way I have found to get out of north south. Strong initial positions make it practically impossible for the guy to control well.
More!! These are actually making a big difference in my game. There's always one really important detail that makes it click. I like the focus on the small details that people forget to cover that usually make or break the technique. As well as the reality of timing and positional changes that have to be considered.
This isn't really an escape this is more how to avoid getting caught in the position. Be nice to see what you do when someone actually has you pinned in NS going for the sub. Still a good video though!
Awesome! Any chance you could do a video on passing concepts? Specifically when to address to specific grips/when not to, and your general philosophy on passing
Yeah absolutely that is one of my favorite topics I will probably cover guard retention basics first then next video after that will be basic of passing concepts as they work off each other.
Belatorius hard to say without seeing you do it, some ideas though would be. Shrimp with your toes not flat foot. Also try to put you weight on to your shoulder and move your hip out as far as you can. Hard to say without seeing your shrimp though :(
nefarious09 think it’s pretty hard for either person take the others back, once the elbow frames are in. Could you post a video showing of what you are referring to?
I'll see if I can find one. but its something you do from the bottom. grab any part of the gi while framing with your elbows and pull yourself up and over rolling over a shoulder. Definitely something my coach showed us as more of a fun move that seems to work if someone is happy to hang out in north south and not expecting it.
