You'd think those North Korean soldiers would get tired of seeing the same thing every day through those binoculars. But I guess there's fuck all else to do but stand there. I know I'd be saying "this is fucking ridiculous" after about an hour.
1950 North Korea invaded South Korea and China Soviet Union(Russia) US and UN countries were involved. 1953 Ceasefire line border line was set by US & Soviet Union. And 2 different ideology states were established. One country was divided into 2 countries. And families were suddenly seperated.
The South Korean DMZ tour and soldiers are much stricter than if you make the same tour from the North Korean side. Check RU-vid videos of tourists visiting the North Korean side of DMZ. They are e.g. allowed to sit in the chairs of the blue house, unlike what is the case in this video. The South Korea DMZ strict procedure and soldier postures are of course just because of US paranoia.
Korea divided by outsiders and till today are encouraged by outsiders to hate each other. The man across the border is your brother, can you allow others to encourage you to hate your brother? Unfortunately it happens all the time not just in Korea but this brotherhood is something those on both sides of this border should never forget!!!!
I've heard some weird stories about those border guards. Its said that when there are no tourists or anyone else looking, they are actually being friends with each other and having conversations all the time. But I think this is just a rumor I've heard. :-)

You always see the South Koreans in an aggressive position and with permanent vigilance, meanwhile the North Koreans are rarely seen in that place (just watching from the windows) who is the aggressive country here?
it blows my mind how that soldier from North Korea with the binoculars, why he doesnt just quickly place his weapons on the ground and literally sprint onto the SOuth Korean side right there during that videoa nd save himself and start a life in south korea, it would be so easy for him to literally walk around pretend like nothing, and them boom just run into south korea to safety to those tourists. It would take a few seconds lol idk why he doesnt just do that, the second the crosses that border line theres nothing North korea could do
Okay can someone answer these questions: Are those guards North Korean guards or South Korea guards? Why is there an American soldier talking? Is it literally like one sad is South other is north?
1.There are south and north korean military police. 2. The Us and South Korean ally is one of the strongest power millitary in Asia. 3.Literally yes. That's right. One side is south , the other is north. The border of south and north is in that blue structure.
1991, US troops pulled directly off the DMZ! We turned our last sector over to the ROKs, Oct 3 1991 to be exact! Now the American troops you see are part of the JSA (Joint Security Agency). Which actually has multiple nations that served in the JSA!
During the korean war the philippines helped south koreans fight north koreans... So when you go to south korea aouth koreans will greet you and etc south koreans are very grateful at the philippines

I don’t understand why nobody in the tour group is objecting. For most people it is a once in their life experience for which they spent quite some money, so they have the right for an explanation which can be clearly understood by everyone.
Lol those tourists are so gullible. South Korean and North Korean soldiers looking scary are just for the show. They stand there intimidatingly to freak the tourists out. After the tourists leave, the soldiers from both side get along and occasionally have drinks together. North and South Korean guards are good friends. Sometimes they even have b-boy match!
yeah i get it now lol! its just they resemble the ghost from the stories during the 2nd World War that old people tells children back in my country, motionless standing soldiers that seems like stares at noting. it must have been a little scary standing on that place.
Hand gestures is a sign of communication so the American military forbid them because it will some unnecessary incident. And North Korean Military is very sensitive in sign language.

South Koreans are the ones with tired looking eyes, the North Koreans are the ones with angry looking eyes. that's the only way to separate those two countries.
+EarthCyclop Because they are guards. That kind of behavior has been beaten and conditioned out of them. Imagine a color code where White=Not alert .Orange=Aware and alert. Red= Extremely alert. Most people never even reach Orange level or know what it feels like. They live their entire lives on white. Soldiers often come home to a civilian "white"environment and get PTSD because they are still stuck on red. They don't understand how someone can just walk by a window like it's no big deal. Normal things don't make sense to them anymore. Well these guys are on red. They don't see the people really. It's a very real instinctual altered state of my mind.
I am on America and South Korea's side in this conflict and if it does escalate i hope we do win with few consequences worldwide but I wouldnt underestimate the korean capacity just yet, especially when China has already moved troops to the border prepared to defend Pyongyang.
North Korea has no chance. South Korea & the United states are one powerful Army. Let alone are troops are the Strongest army in the world.
