Information from Wikipedia:
"The Stoke to Market Drayton Line was a railway line that ran through Staffordshire and Shropshire that was built by the North Staffordshire Railway. The closure of the station in Newcastle-under-Lyme made the town the largest borough in the United Kingdom not to have a railway station." - Wikipedia

I remember walking part of the old line in Market Drayton as a school trip. We were covering it as part of a school topic. We walked a short distance from the cattle market area where the old station was towards Greenfields. This will have been in the early 90s. It always fascinated me! Thanks for the video.

Behind Pipe Gate Station are the remains of the butress/side walls of the old bridge that carried the line across to Pipe Gate Station. That was the original road as I suspected some years ago, and have recently verified this by looking at circa 1890-1910 (6 inch to 1 mile) maps of the area. The said road ('Pipe Gate'?) actually dips at the point of the bridge/Station.
