We travel north of the border to hunt whitetails with our good friend Mike Wilson. This is one of our favorite stops, as it is a trip full of big bucks, and lots of laughs at Canadian "deer camp". Watch as Andrew Murray takes down a beautiful Canadian 12 pt bruiser! #canadianwhitetail #deerhunting #ownyourmoment

I'm 76 years old and would be difficult to remember 1/2 the deer I've killed in my lifetime so I speak from experience when I tell you this; if you will center punch that front shoulder and forget about shooting behind the shoulder, you will never have to track another deer in your life. This one went 20 yds, but most run a lot further. Take your time and become a better shot and you will appreciate this advice on your next hunt. Congrat on an absolutely king of the woods deer.

East Texan. Amen to your comment. I've been hunting whitetails for over 40 years and have shot dozens directly through the front shoulders with a 300 win mag ,165 grain Barnes vortx. None of the deer took even one step.

@@jamesbernardin4052 Thanks. I guess we all learn to shoot behind the shoulder when we were kids and that's probably still true today. It's a large target but a jerked trigger will almost invariably result in losing a gut shot deer. From what I've seen on RU-vid videos over the last few years, I don't know how anyone ever kills a deer with the degree of buck fever I see overtake these guys filming their hunts. Supposedly seasoned hunters panting like a freshman female cheerleader on a first date with the Senior QB. Just ridiculous. And of course there are always the guys who scold me about wasting all that meat from front shoulder shots. I guess I didn't realize how poor us hunters are if we quibble over a few ounces of meat that probably was gonna be ground into hamburger anyway. I haven't had to look for a deer or hog since 2000 when I finally learned (by accident) to center that front shoulder. Course here in Texas we probably hunt a lot differently than most. Our hunting is mostly stand hunting over bait, so having the time to shoot makes a lot of difference than, say, snap shooting at deer in the thickets up north.

Hunters , ask yourself this question. Why the hell do I accept being told by the government when I can go and put food on the table?

I agree. But it’s not a free-for-all. It’s bad enough that sustenance “ sustenance“ hunters get to have a zero bag limit. If everybody just went out and shot whatever they wanted, there wouldn’t be shit left to shoot year after year.

Music is too loud and takes away from your filming. Nice job otherwise!

Probably because he had his barrel resting on the shooting stick instead of resting his stock on the shooting stick. Can lose a lot of accuracy doing that.

Good idea to field dress and camp with a portable electric bear fence. 2.4 lbs for peace of mind.
