Hey buddy, not sure if you gonna read this, i just wanted to say that this is exactly what i was looking for when it comes to pike fishing. All the things you need to know before even putting that line in the water. You're an awesome teacher and very good man. Thank you for doing this. I did subscribe and will be watching all of them videos. I hope you will be back because i'm sure a lot of people can use your help.
I’ve been learning pike and you have helped a ton. I have been taking what you say and compare to what I have seen in the field and it’s pretty dead on. I did have a pike break 40 pound Seagar flora the other day but I had a lot of weight on the line. Thanks for these Videos very helpful 💪🏻
Great informative seminar mate - picked up a few things I didn't know that I can apply in the UK. New sub - I'll be checking out plenty of the other clips. Top quality - nice one !
Learned alot from this. I'm a seasoned muskie fisherman. But lakes with a high northern population have been a struggle. This video really helped explain what I was happening.
Absolutely brilliant information. I’ve definitely learnt from this. I’ll watch it back and take notes. Thank you for these videos. I’ll be putting into practice in the Trossachs, Scotland 🏴 Tight lines all
Excellent stuff. What about line stretch and landing percentages? I noticed I lost a much higher percentage of fish using braid, so I've been putting a 20ish foot shock tippet and using fluorocarbon coated copolymer leaders that also save some stretch. As of late I've been using 30# leaders, noticing I still wasn't getting break-offs or bite offs as i keep going lighter, figuring if I gain 10% in strikes for
One thing I’ve noticed is that lure type makes a huge difference. I had been using 40# fluoro for the spinnerbaits a lot with great success. Later down the road I decided to try out some hard jerk baits. Two bite offs back to back and I decided enough of that. From that point on I’ve been using thinner wire leaders for hard baits with treble hooks. I think the reason is the trebles get hooked deep if the pike inhales it And the line is in its teeth while fighting the fish. A single hook might get hooked closer to the lips with the line coming in less contact with teeth.
