It sounds like those so-called "bylaw enforcement" types are the typical police wannabees hired by the County to patrol the forest. It's very important that forest users understand their civil rights and that these goofs are NOT police and do NOT have the authority of police. They're hired to check membership status.....PERIOD. Anything else constitutes abuse of authority (which is extremely limited for them). As such, they can be held criminally responsible for unlawful detentions. Because the County hired these clowns, they can be held civilly responsible for the bylaw enforcement offenses. It may be high time that forest users,as a group, put the administration on notice that further violations will get horrendously expensive quite quickly if not halted abruptly. Lawyers would be more than glad to assist. It also appears that user groups have gone above and beyond in bringing complaints to Council to little avail. Remember, they sit on Council by the votes of constituents. Councilors supporting this nonsense need to be exposed and called to account at election time. No more Nice Guy. They finish LAST.
Sounds like bullying to me by Northumberland yet again. It doesn't shock me though and God forbid the legal users enjoy some trails and nature. Yet the hikers, mountain bikers and horse back riders are free to go. Stay classy council
