66736 'Wolverhampton Wanderers' departs after a crew change at Coopies Lane on Morpeth North Curve working 6E45 from Fort William towards North Blyth.
The line the loco is standing on is the Morpeth North Curve, opened as recently as April 1980, and it would form part of the link between Bedlington on the soon to open Northumberland Line and Pegswood on the East Coast Main Line, allowing for a Newcastle Upon Tyne to Berwick Upon Tweed via Bedlington 'loop' route.
This route could serve South East Northumberland and North Tyneside with direct connections to North Northumberland and Scotland, using this existing freight line to do so.
