This was just a random short video/mini-tour I took of the new Northwestern High School campus, in Hyattsville, Maryland, USA.
Completed in August 2000 at a cost of $45 million USD, at 386,000sq. ft. and a capacity of 2,700 students, the new Northwestern was the largest high school in Maryland at the time of its completion. Northwestern was surpassed in sized by new county high school (Henry A. Wise) but Northwestern remains the 2nd largest high school, in Maryland.
Northwestern was originally founded in 1951. It is part of the Prince George's County Public Schools system.

My highschool is small, and it was built in the 1800s. We’re always having problems with electricity and air conditioning, toilets and water fountains...the place is a wreck.

My school has about 2,000. But it's at 120% capacity and it's only 9 years old, my district is already scrambling to get the 4th high school open... over 8,000 high school students by 2020

I feel u man….I’m currently in 11th grade and I go to a small ahh high school that’s very limited, but what’s the point of transferring to a bigger high school this late. I jus wanted to have had that big high school typa experience from the start and feel that larger scale self pride the entire school has when brought together as one especially when competing with other big schools and also the tons of things to do inside, many types of different elective classes, programs, clubs, sports and what not..if ya get me….

I went to Northwestern in PG originally and transferred to Northwood Sr High (University Blvd Montgomery Co back in the mid '70s. @XtremeMind84 Thanks for the look at the new Northwestern Sr High. I went to the old school that was torn down. Moved from the area so never have seen the new one.
