Good result with the swing arm bush & isolastics coming apart easily.

Chris, on the replacement for the isolastic, will you be going to the adjustable/vernier style or shims? I have the new vernier style to install this spring and hate to start that project but must be done (both the back and the front). I also was advised from a Norton builder here in the states not keep the bike on the center stand too long/over winter as the isolastics bear part of the weight of the bike. Thanks for the video!!

Hi Mark, yes we'll be converting to MKIII Isolastics so that may be of some help to you, but be aware that while I'll talk it through, I won't actually be fitting them to the frame as I don't have it. Possibly good advice re not keeping the bike on the centre stand too much, but be aware that when not on the stand tge weight of the engine crushes the Isolastics from the other side.

Think you can get roller bearings for the swinging arm

Thanks, Stephen, I'll bear that in mind - another option to consider.

That's a stroke of luck with the swing arm pin Are you going to upgrade to MK3 cotterpins or go the kegler route Or just leave as is? I converted mine to cotter pins and changed the central retaining bolt to a hollow quill I have a small oil revovoir under my seat that I top up with 140 wt connected to the quill I ride all year round and this helps keep the salt water out

My gut feeling is to leave it as is because everything was working fine and there was still oil in the swinging arm despite years of neglect and damp etc. plus the fact that the bike will be for occasional use only. However, that's up to the owner and I'll have a chat with him about it shortly. PS I'm unfamiliar with the Kegler option - can you give me some more info?

They are a pair of bolt on clamps that bolt on both sides of center pin retaining bolt Most commandos have a bit of wear in the gearbox cradle tube and this is one of the cures Holland motoworks sell them@@Chris.rooke150
