For the past two years, Norway House Cree Nation in northern Manitoba has been growing fresh produce using Growcer’s modular farms. The project is named Life Water Gardens (Pimâtisiwin Nipî Kistikânihk) and the greens touch every aspect of the community, from the local hospital to the school cafeteria.
Watch to learn what the Life Water Gardens project looks like today and hear from community members involved. Want captions? Click "CC" in the bottom right corner of the video.
This video was produced by Austin Apetagon (NOMVD Media) from Norway House Cree Nation. The project helped make his interest in film more official and he is currently in the process of making a website at www.nomvd.ca (under construction at the moment). Feel free to check out more of his work when the site becomes available.
