We went on the 8th july the sky lift wasn't as clear as your trip the clouds would fall away and then suddenly rise up again it was amazing to see. Yes the views are amazing We got off the ship and book the sky lift saved £50 that way.

Yea it was the P&O tour, ferry to Geirangerfjord and a guided bus tour. If you want to do either one of the ferry tours, i’d recommend booking early as people couldn’t book on the day as the ferry was full with P&O tours.
How long did it take for you to do the Loen skylift and get back to the ship? Is it doable to do the skylift in the morning and the troll cars to Briksal glacier at noon?
If you got on the first trip up, and spend less than an hour at the top, i suppose it would be possible to be back at the ship by noon. But it would be close. If you’re buying the Skylift tickets at the Olden port, i don’t imagine you’ll get to Loen until 10am. You’re also relying on catching the transfer bus from Loen back to Olden which goes every 30mins (+15 min drive). We personally only did the Skylift and spent 2-3 hours at the top.
