🛰️ Space Rider is the European Space Agency 🇪🇺 #space vehicle, developed by Thales. it is a uncrewed robotic laboratory (about the size of two minivans) that, after being launched by #VEGAC [from AVIO] will stay in low orbit for about two months, in order to carry out #experiments. At the end of its #aerospace #mission, it will return to Earth with its payloads and land on a runway to be unloaded and refurbished for another flight.
Sòphia High Tech #team industrialized and manufactured NOSE DOME, made in #aluminium alloy, using #cnc #machining #manufacturing, according to CIRA - Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali [Italian Aerospace #ResearchCenter] Technical Requirements. This component belong to the Nose Assy of Space Rider. CIRA is responsible for the #design and #development of the #Thermal Protection System that will protect the vehicle from the tremendous heat generated during re-entry phase.
