One of the most empowering moments of my childhood was an episode of the Waltons when Grandma was appalled and irritated that Mary Ellen wanted to study medicine as a doctor instead of a nurse. When she haughtily told Mary Ellen that there was no such thing as a woman doctor, Mary Ellen confidently began rattling off the names of famous women doctors and scientists off the top of her head. I believe that was God speaking to me about my potential. I never again assumed I couldn’t do something because I was a girl. Thanks Judy. I know you didn’t write the dialogue, but your delivery was inspiring and priceless!
I've been a subscriber of her for a while and she's a warm generous person. That's how I see her and that's a rare thing to find so let's all celebrate that about her. That's she real and humble and kind and that's what I notice most of all.
This is such a great interview! Ms Norton is such a calm, honest, intelligent woman and you are right Dave -no one else could play Mary Ellen Walton. When The Waltons came on my mother always said the show reminded her of her childhood. I never really listened to her I just wanted to enjoy the show. It was not until The Wonder Years came on years later(it was like watching my childhood) that I understood what my mother was saying all those years we watched The Waltons. The was the effect that wonderful show had on people and to this day when I watch The Waltons I think of my mother and all the joy The Waltons brought her and Mary Ellen was her favorite character.
Great interview Dave I loved the waltons such a great show one of my favorites Dave i always liked Judy Norton as Mary Ellen she was so cute Still a beautiful woman loved Mary Ellen that character so yea love this Dave 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Growing up I heard a lot about The Waltons, and now I have been watching The Waltons on MeTV and I love the show it is amazing! All the girls grew up beautifully on the show and Judy looks gorgeous here!
That was great to see Judy Norton. She seems really nice. They should never do a reboot of The Waltons or, Little House on the Prairie. There's to many of them and, they'd probably mess it up. This was a real treat. Thanks for sharing this vlog.
I must say Mr. Dave, you're becoming quite the superstar!🌟 I'm so glad you interviewed Judy Norton! I'm subscribed to her channel as well!! Your channel and her channel are my favorites! I 💘 The Waltons!! Judy just won't ugly up! She's still so beautiful, talented, and down to earth!! And this lady is quite a singer too!🎤📺🇺🇸
I absolutely loved The Waltons! I used to watch it every saturday at 4pm here in Brazil. I loved all the girls from the show, but Mary Ellen is really special. Judy is adorable! Thank you, Dave, for this wonderful interview.
Catch Judy Norton's channel for every new post. Really enjoy her walks down memory lane. Heard her singing on one of the posts. The lady has a great set of pipes. Too bad her singing talent wasn't worked in to a Waltons episode (or if so, don't recall it). Thanks for a great interview, Dave.
This Norton is glad you interviewed that Norton! Thanks for letting us in on this easy going yet informative conversation Dave, but you forgot to ask if her family wishes each other good night upon retiring.
Great interview with Judy Norton. I enjoy listening to her talk about the Walton's. I could listen to Judy endlessly and she has a great way of expressing herself and telling her stories about the show and what happened. A great lady! Thanks so much for sharing.
She’s still so pretty...and such a lovely person...I enjoyed The Waltons..reminded me of my mother’s big loving family...the grandfather was so much like my granddaddy, who’d not long been dead..it always made me think of him..
Happy Birthday, Judy, Mary Ellen Walton.i agree that no one could ever play Mary Ellen Walton, in a reboot. She is one of a kind for sure. Very unique. And very special. Great interview and a wonderful person. Love her channel very much. She is great.
Awesome interview. Must've been great to have a guest who was so easy to interview. I liked Judy very much during the first 3 seasons of The Waltons when I was a regular viewer. Her and Richard Thomas, of course. After them Jon then the 4 adults, who had well-written roles.
I still enjoy watching this show! I felt like a part of the family! Good Night Mary Ellen and Good Night John Boy! Have a Great Night Dave!!!! Thank You!
Judy, Judy,Judy! Hay Dave, nice interview. I just remember one middleschool school night, flipping (among the only 3) channels and being drawn into what became many years of the Waltons. They sure dont make 'm like they used to. Thanks for the post, the interview, and,,,,good night Johnboy.
I watch her on her channel and been loving it ever since I subscribe to it few months ago. Great to chat with her as well. Thank you for having her on with you. I wasn't sure if I was dreaming when I just woken up this morning and found out what I saw you having Judy Norton, wow. Again thank you for having her and God bless. C. Wayne Brock. California
Thank you so much for doing this interview w/ Judy Norton! I am already addicted to her RU-vid channel. The Waltons really is my all time favorite tv show.
This was so awesome Dave. I think because of my sub to your channel, RU-vid recommended her channel to me some weeks ago and I've loved watching her videos. Great to see two of my favorite YTers together.
You can’t fool a true Waltons fan; but I will always respect you. You have always given me wonderful responses to my questions. I appreciate that a lot.
Had a crush on her...still do! Been watching her channel for several weeks now and so glad you had her on yours! Still waiting for a vid on your channel regarding another crush of mine...Lady Aberline from Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Keep up the good work Dave!
Great Interview! Excellent research, excellent presentation... don't get too full of yourself, because you're going places! Looking forward to the next one!
Dear David, I, too, am a huge fan of "The Waltons". My family and I watched it every Thursday night on our CBS affiliate, WCPO (Channel 9 out of Cincinnati). I think some of us had favorite characters. Dad connected well with John, Sr., and Jim-Bob, mom connected with Elizabeth. My Grandpa Warner seemed to like the grandfather the best, and my personal favorite was Ike Godsey. I don't know which characters my siblings liked best. There was something unique about each major character on that show, yet they all seemed to meld together well. I trust you and your loved ones are well.
Hey Dave, finally got a chance to watch your latest interview with Judy Norton. Well done! Was very interesting to hear what she has been doing these days. I loved the Waltons as a kid growing up,one of my favorite shows.
She looks fantastic!!! Seeing her in this video is like seeing her in a rerun of the original show! I would love to know what skincare she uses because it is great!!
I thought Judy's episode about the cars was fascinating because, due to clever sound editing, we always assumed the vehicles ran. In that episode she revealed that vehicles were often pushed into scenes or pulled on ropes and vehicle sound were added in editing.
@@jdsundstrom Enjoyed every second of the interview. You asked the questions that I like to think I would have. I had a huge crush Judy as a youngster as did many boys. She is still beautiful inside and out.
This is just wonderful and I will say it here as well as on Judy's page as I'm a subscriber there too that I often learn something new each time! Today it was about the internet car sight! I'm currently curious about a specialty older car here in town and from what I can see of it (in a private business back yard) it seems like it could have been a movie prop!! I'll keep researching it now that I know about this site! Thanks again Dave and I'm thrilled you were able to have such a lovely interview with Judy Norton!! :-) I
My whole family watched the Waltons. Always remember with fond memories. Loved all the characters, for me I loved the Baldwin sisters. Hope I remembered their correct name? And how grandpa loved the recipe. And Judy played the big sister perfectly. Always loved Ellen Corby as well ❤
So, i'm watching the Hunt (first season, episode 4) I decide to hop on RU-vid. Dave has a fresh post ....and it's Mary Ellen....LOL Life is full of coincidences.
You're right ... the re boot didn't come close at all. I found it extremely disappointing and poorly acted. If they would have used the remaining original cast members it would have been soooooo much better! Cheers ✌
Judy is so genuine. There is not a phony put on bone or nerve in her body and being. I am really lucky to have 5 genuine women friends over the 40 years I enjoyed women friends more than anything I am interested in. Judy is a great video friend since that is the best I can do. I love just hearing her voice. I see her as a very wise, beautiful woman beyond anything I can say. To me, Judy is a very famous star.
Judy Norton did the same thing as the late great James Doohan... In the mid-70s, he was at his dentist’s office getting his teeth examined and was lamenting due to the lack of jobs because he was typecasted as Scotty. His dentist suggested to just go with the flow, and accept that he will always be Scotty while looking for acting work. He did that, of course, and his attitude changed about Star Trek and his character (with Shatner, that's another story). You never know who will be the one to encourage you (this came from his autobiography)! She went with the flow and determined not to see the negative for being in that series, but the positive, Dave. People by nature type casts others because it seems to be easier for them, and in their minds, they will always see others a certain way. Even if you grow as a person, some will always see you in a certain way!
