Yes! I am SO glad you decided to show your painting. I feel like I just witnessed a true moment of growth in you. I can definitely relate to the feelings of doubt and shame when it comes to finished pieces of art. It can feel so deeply discouraging when you've spent countless hours pouring your heart and soul into something, only for it not to reflect what we had originally envisioned. I know that we are meant to share our gifts with the world, and even when we may not like what we have made, it might mean the world to somebody else! Your painting is so lovely! I can't wait to see how your art shifts and transforms moving forward. Keep painting! Even when you feel "what is the point". Keep painting! And one day you will be so immersed in the process that you will step back and be truly AMAZED at your creation - almost like it created itself, and you were just a bystander :) Really enjoyed this video. I totally 'get' what you're saying about nostalgia not only for the past, but for the present too. Regarding artwork - it very often happens in my experience that if I actually don't look at it for a bit of time, then see it with fresh eyes, it looks fine because I'm appreciating it for Itself, not in comparison with what I was aiming for. Yes, rewiring 20 years of conditioned thinking, (even if one did most of the conditioning oneself 😏) is tough. I'm 56 and trying to rewire 50 years of fear-based thinking, and the thing is, it probably isn't possible for me now. In steps Acceptance and Self-awareness (I'll see how that goes 😂).

Hello Frederike! I enjoyed seeing these very enjoyable-looking days and hearing how the backyard bursts into life with spring. We are our own worst critics. I am an artist too so I understand the angst but your painting is so beautiful and it inspires the feeling of this woman is having a moment of bliss and release. Joy! I love it!! You did such a wonderful job!

You captured so beautifully the inner and outer feeling and scenery of Spring , the landscape looks so green now , oh yes and those flowers smelling so well aren’t that Seringen ? You finished your large painting that’s great and out of the things you don’t t like or imagined otherwise , you will grow and learn and continue to make more paintings , no one is judging you but I know it is easier said than done to let that thought go . Feeling nostalgic is a beautiful way of live your life the fullest , maybe not the most easy way but see it as a positive skill to notice every tiny moment in live 🍀 Due to our bad weather I need still to buy my flowers to fill the pots but for now I am enjoying a little holiday on a tiny Greek,Island that is so quiet and peaceful. Btw ,what a beautiful red dress 👌and the dogs are so so adorable , let them guide you how peaceful without expectations we should live 😉 Enjoy your next painting process and inhale the energy of this beautiful saison , I join you 😇💐

Ah I am envious of the nature and open space around you! I am proud of you for finishing it! Honestly, I think we need to just make the art and then... let it go. You can get to the point where you see it and almost don't remember you did it. It's like you're looking at something made by someone else. It's a personal/emotional detachment. I used to not be able to listen to recordings of myself doing vocal lessons, rehearsing songs, or performing songs on a stage. Now I am to the point where I don't really think about it anymore. I can listen to old recordings and it's almost like listening to somebody else. In my rational mind, I know that's me. But let's say someone played a recording of me and didn't tell me who it was. I likely wouldn't even recognize it! At least, not right off. Singing is a gift I have from Jesus Christ. (Or had. I haven't sung in a long time. But that's a whole other story.) He gave me the gift. I worked hard to make it the best it could be. Not that I've arrived. I still have tons of room for improvement. But, ultimately, I sing for Him. Not for other people. Not even for myself. I sing for Him, and then I let it go do whatever it's going to do in the world. I'm not saying this is easy. I'm not saying I have mastered this. Not at all. I think it's a lifelong process. But it does get easier the more times you do it.
