Nostalgic Tweaks beta 9 for Minecraft 1.20.1 & 1.20.4-1.21 is finally here! This update has been in the oven for 2 years and is now fully cooked! Beta 9 is a complete rewrite, and the mod now features over 400+ tweaks for both the client and server. You can download the mod at CurseForge or Modrinth.

this is actually the best glow up ive seen in a mod, that config screen is easily 10x better than the original one. that cave fog? better than any other mod ive seen. boost minecarts back? YIPPEEEEEEEEE. this is great. thank you so much. this is worth the wait

I'm not a big fan of the old versions of Minecraft, but I'm very happy for those who want to play the newer versions and enjoy features that no longer exist. It's a win-win for everyone. Nice mod btw!

One of the best Minecraft mods currently developed at the moment. That fog looks amazing. This, the From the Fog Datapack, and the revival of Aether 1 are my favorites right now

This looks absolutely amazing! A mod that brings back so many things from older versions and is fully configurable sounds like the things of dreams for me. Being able to experience all the new content with so many of the things I loved about the game growing up is amazing and I can't wait to try this out for myself. Between this and the Legacy4J mod, the nostalgia so many of us have gets to be experienced again. Thank you for making this!

Thankfully I received port forwarding assistance courtesy of forkiesassds on GitHub. They got the 1.20.6 and 1.21 branches started so I could quickly start working on them. :)

I swear this one of the best modern Minecraft mods, finally for 1.21, the thing I'm most interested is in the lightning, how many light engines does minecraft has had? I certantly notice the difference, but I guess this mod recreates one and it's the one before Release 1.0, right?

Would be cool if you can create triple chests by enabling "triple chest bug" in settings making it possible to crouch while placing a chest next to an already existing double chest. Triple chests can also have updated UI with a "+" Icon to acess extra chest slots, or even making the limit of chests infinite allowing us to have quintuple chests or even more.

It's hard to explain in a comment, but the rendering code is on GitHub. You can also change the text of the falling blocks animation with a resource pack. :)

Would be cool if the old minecart was in the eye candy settings, kinda like how it was first added in infdev where it was just a chest minecart but it would fill up if you put items inside

I would like to see the old blue water like before 1.13, in your mod. Resourcepacks do not handle this correctly, they just overlay the blue water texture on the water color map, which makes it inky blue and almost not transparent. Is it possible to realize this in the future?

Bringing back SSP would be very difficult in modern versions of the game. Also mod support would be very limited unfortunately.

To put it simply, neoforge doesn’t have a specific crappy developer that held back the project. The neoforge team is almost 1:1 with the old forge team, minus _that guy_

no joke none of my modern minecraft installs dont have NT. How do you go about reimplementing these mechanics? I'd guess you'd have to reverse engineer them?

Some of the old features don't translate well into newer versions of the game, so I had to rewrite them from scratch. :)
