For my first entry in the Toon Chest series, the randomizer has graced me with a 1946-released Warner Bros. short about books coming to life. Leave it to Bob Clampett to make good use of a concept that was frankly no longer popular by the mid-1940s!
Director: Bob Clampett

Allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, commentary and research (all three of which are a staple of Toon Chest). Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.
DISCLAIMER: This video, like every video on this channel, is intended only for mature audiences. While the topic is primarily animation-related, the purpose of this video is to present an analysis about said media from a distinctly adult perspective, which may possibly include profane language, obscene references and satire of varying kinds. The Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) has made it illegal to collect personal data on children younger than age 13, which many websites from Facebook to RU-vid were doing anyway, and that is why I am typing this to cement the understanding that I only upload content that I conclude animation fans and/or film/media collectors/fans/etc. aged 18 or above would find interesting.

But o' Trivia: the line "So round, so firm, so fully packed, so easy on the draw" was taken from ads for Lucky Strike cigarettes.

Fun idea, Toonkeeper! I imagine your list has everything from the listings in Maltin's 'Of Mice and Magic', plus the DFE shorts (and maybe Loopy De Loop)? Do you also include silent shorts? I recently completed my cartoon collection as well. If you need something in particular, feel free to ask me.

Thank you and noted! As for my list, I actually got it from Graham Webb's Animated Film Encyclopedia, which will include whatever silent shorts I'm able to get my hands on as well (lots of lost films from this era). I do cut out most 1960 and later shorts though with a few exceptions, DFE being one of the studios I still cover (until late 1968, when the Hays Code was officially dismantled). A couple Loopy De Loops are still in the selection bank though (given the series started in 1959).
