When you plan on digging in a stationary area like that, used a pop-up canopy. And when copper is found with gold it can turn out it be rich. And that was definitely copper staining.

Love your vids. I always wear gloves when I work. My fingers last longer that way. You might want to get a larger flat-headed hammer for use with a chisel. Easier to hit the sweet spot, please wear gloves. FYI Wounds can be sterilized with a 5% Ammonia(clear)95%H20 solution. If that is not available, urine is acceptable. Rinse with 100% water.

On one of my claims in Arizona, I find chrysocolla and cuprite which are copper ores of course, but I also have silver at about 7oz per ton along with galena and massive vein amethyst. I was looking for gold, but the best I could find was only 0.39oz per ton. I'd would really enjoy digging around and prospecting there in the Outback except for the flies. Nice copper find !! It was great to see you laughing at yourself. In my time I have had too many accidents. In the last couple of years I’ve had 6 nasty ones. I blacked out the other month and fell 2 mtr onto my head. Fractured my sinuses, nose neck and rib. 8 weeks in a neck brace. Due to 4 other falls , one when I nearly drowned in 4 cm of mud all the professionals were concerned for heart or stroke. It shows how good they are. I was checking out all my medicines they give me. A medicine they have recently given me after a few years to shrink my prostate. But different brand. Causes me to black out as blood rushes from my brain. All falls were caused by me quickly standing up. So all broken bones of head . Multiple ribs. Fingers, wrist etc. we’re caused by simple doctor and chemist incompetence. My doctor have had for 21 years. My chemist for 10. I’ll have to stop swinging through the trees. Robby AU

Yeah,the low grade coper rocks are great to look at seeing the azurite of and malacite together! On my Turquiose claim I have alot of that around.For myself,solo prospecting always has been gratifying,starting to get kinda old now! Take care of yourself krissy!

Yes Chrissy bit of oxidised copper, you're also right gold and copper can be found in association. You also always commonly hurt yourself when you get tired, happy new years and Goodluck for the coming year.

Krissy, if you're going to be chiseling rock now and again, you should be carrying about a 24 oz hammer with you. It will get the job done much quicker and will not fatigue you too much.

Sorry about your finger., Speaking of health, I used to be a crystal rep and from memory, Malachite dust and Azurite dust are both highly toxic, especially if breathed in, ingested, or even just with skin contact. Just thought I'd let you know, since you were handling and crushing raw pieces.

A lump hammer and a hardened steel rod is a bit better than a geo pick. Gold can be cryptic in copper bearing ore... Nice work. No matter what, you had to chase that one down. That was quite the adventure - way better than a desk job!

happy new year Krissy, that was an impressively gunky finger, definitely a good reason to keep the gloves on when digging. there is a copper mine near me (Parys mountain) that has been worked since Roman times they also pulled out galena for lead and silver, and a small amount of gold caught up in the copper arsenic with some native gold too. The mountain which is more of a hill really is honeycombed with tunnels and stopes and the colouring of the spoil heaps is incredible. travel safe and thanks for sharing your copper mining experience.

A nice pry bar of around 1.5 meters would be a great help to you on a reef like that. They're heavy but indispensable in a situation like that.

well, there had to be native copper there to get the pinpointer working let alone the detector. The carbonates of copper are not metallic the bit i could see looked like Bornite. A very weathered Copperpyrite. Most of the sulphur has leached away leaving close to the metal copper behind. Easy ore to treat. Next March you can come over and dig my garden over for practice if you like.

Love watching your shows wish I could enjoy that adventure with you but stuck here in the USA but watching your videos are ok too.

Hi Krissy, I Googled to see what else is found that is metallic and can be detected and yes copper is detectable. Another interesting stone that has been found in the Murchison Region is "Mariposite" which has little use and suppose to be a type of mica and is green in colour but cannot find anything on it being detectable. I have seen large pieces of Copper ore and yes they are browny-red like copper refined but weathered. Also when you hurt yourself and bleed, always dose the wound first with Betadine or Iodine solution to kill Golden Staff as I am told by the medics up that way, the Red dirt is a breeding ground for Golden Staff. The second step is to apply Savlon and cover it with a sealed bandage and monitor. If it gets itchy red and swollen, seek medical attention. My choice is always Savlon as it works fine for me. Did have a narrow escape last year on my ankle as it became inflamed by rubbing of my boot on the side of my ankle and also a scratch at the same spot when walking around in that morning in thongs! I was out for a day and a half!! It was very interesting above where you were was an Outcrop of Ironstone and then where you were, was quartz and conglomerate quartz, and then if you were below that area I reckon you may have found some gold or along and around that area. Just a hunch.

Be careful Kris always wear some leather riggers gloves when scraping - might be a rusty old tin can? When i surfed Bali's desolate jungle spots i carried Keflex for coral cuts and amoxyl - others for dysentry - even had sutures & iidine /peroxide to do a Rambo lol - infections blow up fast in the heat - i nicked my ankle on a motorbike foot peg and infected in a couple hours on an outlying island - glad u had the srash - take care 👌👍

Krissy, I'm glad your ok, that wound would have been very serious if you hadn't taken care of it, you were right, that was a lot of work, but that was very interesting about the copper ore, I didn't realize how many mineral deposits there are where you were, that does make it a lot harder to hunt for gold

You need to do some electrolytes for your cramps like potassium magnesium calcium and zinc and some salt plus some sugar basically make you some Kool-Aid and put them those pills in it

One copper mine I worked at you had to take care of your hands or a scratch would get infected with copper poisoning, nickel mines also. cheers

G,day Kris, happy new year ,, my heart sank when you dug for so long and just get a cut on your hand , but also better understanding of how the ground works , You should carry one of those old 4 ltr insulated bottles and add eletrolites to it chill it but be careful when drinking not to get brain freeze from being to hot to sudden to cold , you should carry a light weight unbrella so when you sit down to dig you some what shaded and yeah bit more comfy to bring small pillow to sit on
