Thanks for giving my channel another shoutout Andy 😀😀 Cool seeing the clutch being fitted and hearing how much quieter it now sounds. Yell out and I will post over a V4S Streetfighter for ya mate.
I've been using a Draper 10.8v 17135 for the past year and can recommend it. Decent quality, reasonable price, good battery life and very controllable. Rated to 45Nm. Great for repetitive jobs like removing crankcase screws. Treat yourself!
I don't use power tools before torque wrench because if the wrench indicates immediately all I know is that I'm AT LEAST at the target value and no real idea how much over that value I might actually be. If I do run a group of fasteners before torque wrench use I will back out a bit so as to come up to my desired torque. But that's just me 😊
Yeah, I knew you knew that... I use the hell out of those gizmos taking stuff apart. Keep it up, you are my favorite MC guy on you tube. for lots of reasons 🤔
Thanks Andy for another great vlog, I know where you're coming from with being careful as I also am diabetic and at least a couple of years older than you so us folk have to take car mate.. It's a shame you've lost out on your hol's through no fault of your own, nobody could have thought that the "kungflu" would've hit us all this year or if at all. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hey Andy with that basket it sounds even better! What a pitty you had to cancel your trips, lucky me I did one of my dream trips in 2019 to the isle of man for the Manx Gp and if I can I will go back in the near future, fingers crosed., cheers!!
Don't pull the clutch rod out with the clutch pressure plate! It's not meant to go out that side. There is a needle bearing supporting the clutch side of the rod, and it will wreck the two o-rings on the rod if you pull them through the bearing that way. Then you end up with engine oil leaking out near the clutch slave. If the rod tries to come out with the pressure plate, gently tap it free from the pressure plate bearing
Late reply sorry. I understand your reasoning, but I have had to punch out the rod thru the small hole in the centre of the pressure plate bearing after I removed all from the bike, as per the workshop manual. Are you saying remove the rod via the clutch slave side first?
Andy, lucky you can ride instead of being in stage 4. Love your work & classic Ducati. But, I do think it’s time you give some extra love in assembling that Kaboodle kitchen cupboard flat packs. Otherwise, you’ll be living in the man cave permanently.😂😂👌🥇💯🏍🇦🇺. Watching & have subscribed to Turbobike beforehand. Anything with classic Ducati’s gets my vote!
At 4:17, your basket practically falls off, as I would expect. Yet mine is stuck. All bolts are off. I don't get it. Any ideas? What's holding it on? It won't budge.
Great stuff Andy pitty ya can't make de trip to me neighbouring Island. But glad to see your keeping yourself busy and thinking of yer healt if ya keep thinking that way de trip will happen and ya might even pop in to see yer ancestors 😉☘☘☘
Good content Andy ! Cheers ! . .. 2 cents from a guy in the states (or no yeah I wouldn't pay attention to anyone from the states these days either): match alloy to alloy OR steel to steel with basket and friction plates. Tangs & fingers beat each other up in different ways. .. then there's plate shuffling .. e.g. had my bike for ~1-2 years, shuffled the plates (much quieter), then installed fresh basket & plates (much quieter).. then ~2 years from now - will shuffle the plates again.. milking life from what's there.. I think we're all milking life these days. Plate bearing on list of "while you're in there". If it fails, then rod starts spinning - thereby causing heat/bubbles/failure on part of slave cylinder. (potentially.. ) (at least check it's 'spin' by hand for roughness) Jealous of your non-cracked aluminum swing arm. Oy my jeepers - right there with you on erring on side of caution with .. the stuff and all.. Carry on mate.
Agree about mixing aluminum and steel. In my defense I was actually unaware that I had purchased aluminum plates. I am hopeful that as it doesn’t hammer back and forth with the Biggelaar Performance clutch mod that they will last a reasonable length of time, I guess it will be a good test. Pressure plate bearing is fine 👍
New to motorcycles and I was thinking about buying a 1980’s Yamaha xs1100 which is how I found your channel, I’m pretty mechanically knowledgeable and I thought it would be cool to make a cafe racer, what’s your opinion? It would be cool if I could reach out to you with questions and talk about it
Hi andy, i recently got the clutchmod from toine. I installed all how it should sit. Even using ur videos. But for some reason my clutch keeps dragging. I replaced all steel plates with 1.5 mm. Bled the master and slave. But only when i set my clutch lever to the far from handlebar setting it releases (but finding neutral is hard) so wth did i fk up? 🤣 btw its a 1198s... ps i didnt remove the inner part. Is that the mistake i made?
Hey thanks for the video. Quick question on your older xs1100 TCI video - I have a 1995 xv1100 and trying to find a TCI pinout diagram. Any help would be awesome thanks
Hey Andy, your channel is fantastic, I found you researching about my first Ducati which I just purchased, 2004 s4r monster. 20k km on the clock and has clutch basket rattle. How do you go about sorting a biggelaar clutch mod kit. I've been to the site and can't seem to find it. A point in the right direction would be great, cheers.
To purchase a clutch modification go to either the Biggelaar Performance Facebook page or website. You will need to either send a message on Facebook or an email on the website and ask Toine to supply the clutch modification kit as seen on Andy’s Motorcycle Obsessions. You will need to let him know if it is for a steel or an aluminum basket. I think they’re still about €100. I did a video or two on the subject, go have a look 👍
I think if I were to get another Duc, beyond my Monster 620, I would be more interested in a Sport Classic 1000 than a Street fighter. Only thing is I can’t afford one, so the Monster is just fine for me. Maybe one day.
regarding you tube adverts i have noticed if I'm watching on my phone or computer their is a lot but if I share my phone to my TV (via sky box) I don't get any adverts at all??? anyone else noticed this?
Nice chat Andy, BZ. odd YT notifications didnt pop up when you posted this Vid, just say'in. Not hopeful thre will be a Vaccine anytime soon sadly, lots of hype though. Is yours a Wilfuckie Fuel M12 or M18? Keep safe
i agree andy, but a bloke like me on a pension whos been supporting his 19 year old son for 6 months on the pension, its a basic question of food in the end. im thousands in debt for bills and services; and as much as i love your content, i havent got a buck to my name. keep up your fabulous content mate.
Following the Patreon Aggro with court cases (Owen Benjanin), it may be wise to look at an alternative as they're highly likely to increase their charges if they don't go bust in the meanwhile.
Well to be fair the clutch is a source of issue on dukes, that and busted cranks. But no machine is perfect good thing for me, that is how I made a living for most of 50years .
Andy, I'm here in the states. In need of replacing my clutch basket. What's the best way for me to get hooked up with the clutch saver kit? Enjoyed the video.

If you end up near the west coast on your sausage ride hit me up and I’ll show you some of the best riding roads in the world , unfortunately every year we send a few mainlanders home in boxes after they get their abilities and ambitions mixed up , might have my bevel up and running then 😎 just waiting on parts from veetwo , so what’s the deal with basket case ?
I would love to go to the UK and ride with Grag and Matt , but beening a descendant of a frog that arrived hear in 1720 I might not be welcome. But then one of my relatives did help a wee bit with the second world war we might be forgiven. Most of my family was in the Pacific at that time though.
RU-vid advertisements become more annoying if you happen to look at any conservative political video then they put an ad on of a guy spraying talcum powder on his balls.....one way to try and change political opinion I guess....
