On the 30th November 2012, Unheard Shropshire and County Channel TV produced an amazing night of music and fundraising in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
Vicki Archer and Nina Blakemore interviewed Not Completely Blonde and they sang 'Caged'.
Not Completely Blonde is a pop/folk acoustic vocal group made up of three young ladies in their second year at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College. (Fiona MacKellar, Beth Jones, Aliana Chambers) Based in Ellesmere, NCB has big aspirations and grab every opportunity to perform, or make themselves known across the county, so the girls were delighted when the chance to sing on County Channel TV came up.
The girls are so excited to sing an exclusive performance of their original song 'Caged' during the telethon for the Lingen Davies Cancer Relief Fund. This live performance can only be heard on the broadcast taking place on the 30th of November.
"We think it's so important to support local charities, and that's why it's fantastic that County Channel TV are supporting Lingen Davies helping cancer patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales" say the girls. "As evolving artists, the telethon is a brilliant platform for our music to be heard, and also to be surrounded and inspired by other local artists."
Not Completely Blonde have already been featured on BBC Radio Shropshire's Introducing along with several of the acts appearing in the telethon, and their track "The Coffee Song" was Radio Shropshire's "Song of the Month" for June.
"The web offers a wealth of opportunities for new bands to be heard. It is bringing many local musicians together, giving them a chance to hear each other's music and be inspired. It is the future of broadcast (or narrowcast) communications, and we want to help County Channel TV pioneer this relatively new medium, giving voices not only to bands, but also to everyone in Shropshire who has something to say, to entertain or, as in this event to help raise money for the Lingen Davies Cancer Relief Fund."
