This was nice but don't get addicted to these nice, plush, perfume enhanced, whole foods, real plants, rich malls Dan. We need you back in those dark, dank, disgusting dead malls where the quarter gumball machines don't work and there are unidentified stains on the carpet lol.
I think he was probably in Miami, heard about this, and thought it would be a cool video. I don’t really understand why some people have such a strong reaction against it, I think all of his videos are awesome.
the jazzy music and the lady with the ball gown, while Tiffany sits at the back and a lady walk a chihuahua with an emerald laced collar has to be the most Palm Beach thing you can get, maybe ever
bonecanoe86 Sadly no this type really cater to super elite rich folk. Also you can only wonder if President Trump may have gone here well before he was President. Maybe he hasn't but who knows.
Ferrous black i think greta garbo said it best in queen gertrude: nostalgia isnt just reserved for places you miss. one can also be nostalgiac for the things they yearn for.
@@icalexander That sounds like an insane amount of money to spend on something you're only wearing for fashion. Even people who own watches don't use them to tell time anymore.
Watching your serie is like a scifi dystopian movie about how you started to explore the malls for low and middle class which are struggling, depressing and unstable. This video is like somehow you escaped to the “elite” area that has the luxury, beauty and everyone is without worry. It’s like watching “elysium” :)
It's a pity America can't ever have a French-style revolution. The folks who own the guns worship the rich because they think they can be rich too, even though America is actually dead last for upward mobility potential in the First World. Also, in about 30 years, the ground level of these shops will be flooded.
Look up prices of Patek Philippe, they are gorgeous looking but price you have to pay for one of them is astronomical even when compared to this Rolex.
It's certainly beautiful, but my $40, 40-year-old Slava is doing well enough for me. No more Slava factory, sadly, and made in a country that doesn't exist anymore... how's that for limited edition?
The layout of this mall is similar to the Ala Moana mall in Hawaii with the open air structure. It isn't as bougie - it has a good amount of staple luxury shops like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc., but it has regular mall shopping as well so it caters to all the tourists.
The luxury mall is doing well while normal folks malls are rotting. I think this is very telling about the widening disparity between the rich, middle class and the poor in this country.
"I've never been to a mall as beautiful as this one" Lol Dan, I believe you on that. Considering that the most dead mall in my city is probably better than 99% of the malls you go to on average.
This just speaks to Dans talents here. Whether it's a: cum drenched motel, a haunted warehouse, dead mall, or thriving space. You really bring depth, humor, and history to life with your segments!
Did that small mall next to the hospital that's close to Ken's office come right to your mind too? I remember that it had an open roof too and rain would get inside.
Absolutely stunning mall. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about a Dead Mall Series episode focused on a thriving mall but man, this one delivered. Well done!
What a beautiful mall! I’d love to go there... I could walk for hours. I wouldn’t even buy anything (too broke!). I’d just waltz around the court, admiring the foliage and taking photographs. I mean, this isn’t even my idea of luxury-when I think of luxury, I think of wood grain panels, bulky suits, trench coats, massive windows, neon lights, silvery stereo components... but I can appreciate the merchandise. It’s always nice to get a peek at the high life.
I have a really vague suspicion I might know who that is. If she is who I think--- she's probably the least snooty person in that entire structure. LOL
I can't believe it, I just commented on your last video how I wish you'd do a series about "live" malls, and then you come straight out with this one! Love it!
get a better job or start your busness, hell my uncle who own a busness told me if i want lots cash, to pick a career that not super saturated that pay super well.
rikilamaru: there’s more to it than that. Lol. Josh I’d recommend the starting your own business thing but I also would recommend you read two amazing books: think and grow rich, and, the power of positive thinking. They will revolutionize your life no matter WHAT you do thereafter.
@@rikilamaru I've picked a career that pays pretty well and I wouldn't waste that much money on a flipping watch. Not many people wear them anymore, even the ones that do only do it for fashion and rarely look at their watch to tell the time, and it screams "mug me". There are so many better ways to spend that much money.
For a mall like this, you aren't going there to merely shop, it's more of an experience. Also, if the mall has a Neiman Marcus store, it must be doing very well since they are very selective about which malls to put their stores in
i recall watching this video during the depths of a breakup-induced depression and wanting to see this place in person so bad. now, because of this video, i went to this mall for the first time last year with my boyfriend and we loved it 🖤 thank you for introducing this place to me, dan. funny how life works sometimes.
I think my bank account emptied out just watching the video. I can't afford to window shop at that place! LOL! Your car broke down down there, right? You gonna trade it for that McLaren?
Al ChestBreach Though that's surprising in this day and age. One of the few prosperous malls. When you hear mall it's like the worst but for this it's going strong though only catering to rich elites.
Kelly Chuang We even have prosperous malls for normal folk. Dolphin Mall is amazing, and I've heard Dadeland Mall and Sawgrass Mills are doing well also.
I'm blown away that they just let you handle the massively expensive jewelry. I can only imagine how much they clean the watches after each customer handles them.
Hi Dan, that really was top level chic. The mall was designed so beautifully, a great video. You did some awesome filming and really showed off this stunning mall.
As someone on the cusp of lower and middle class, I wish I can afford this high capacity consumerism. Do rich people really go out and buy $40k watches on a whim? What a feeling that must be.
Sako's Tech Spot They are crazy to spend money like that. I can think of so many other things $41k could go towards to better the world other than my wrist for a useless watch that nobody except old people actually use anymore. Everybody checks the time on their phones. My brain can't process that type of spending.
Nice oversimplification of rich people you have there. Watches like the ones shown in the video, are targeted towards a niche clientele who know how to appreciate the craftsmanship of a watch. Has little to do with showing others how you spend your money. My guess is that you've never been to a watch factory in Switzerland or considered the skill or labor that goes into making a watch. Yet, you call that "dumb shit". LOL!
Have you ever considered doing an international mall trip? I know the malls in Shanghai are incredibly large and different from the US. It's a real experience heh
Fantastic as always 😁 this place looks like it's even fancier than the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and that's the fanciest mall I can think of here.
I am from Holland, and we used to go shopping here in the 90s. It is still known as one of the bests malls to go to I think. And yes, being able to smoke there, is an ENORMOUS advantage. In the 90s you were still invited to smoke inside the store when someone of your family was fitting clothes and they would open a bottle of wine. Really nice memories i have from this mall. The exact opposite of other malls were you are prohibited about everything. It’s not a mall only for the rich! You can really find special things, clothes, which aren’t that expensive, but they are normally exclusive. Try it!
I've been to this mall. I ate in the food court. I was inquiring about employment. Rich people don't give you eye contact unless you are getting their car from the valet. Loved this one
I can't believe that gentleman took that watch out of it's locked case and actually let both of you hold it! Also..the Tiffany ring, she took that out too! Great video!
No my guess for this is either an alternate dimension though then again you can say that for surviving Blockbusters in Alaska or plausible explanation is that really super elite rich folks territory.
I was in Miami on vacation from Boston and stopped at this mall to pick up some light colored “Miami” colored shorts and polos not knowing how posh this mall was. I never felt so out of place at a mall.
