Like five years ago there was this History of the Marvel Universe mini series that ended with Galactus rambling off a bunch of prophesies, and the wedding of Tony and Emma was one of them. This is one of the two or so prophesies that hadn't happened yet. I will admit I had a good giggle watching Emma Frost fans have an absolute meltdown about this on social media. Don't be a bad person like me who gets your kicks watching others suffer.

@@timgonzales2891 well, first off, Tony Stark doesn’t believe he can be a good husband and Iron Man at the same time. That was from way back in the day when he first became Iron Man. After that he has had many complicated relationships… some trying to extort him and his company, o another being a villain (Madam Masque), and another actually shooting him and almost killing him (leaving him paralyzed) out of jealousy. This history would lead him to not trust women easily, and he would not easily propose to any woman, and he likely would not just agree to a marriage with someone he hardly knows. Also, I gave a shit about Iron Man. I read and collected his comic for years. I was genuinely excited years and years ago when they announced they were making an Iron Man movie because he is my favorite character.

This is sad on so many levels: 1. Tony can never live down that he is married to someone who may be mind controlling him. This is harder to justify than marrying a stripper. 2. Most people want to marry complementary. Tony really gonna marry a somewhat-reformed villain? 3. Now that he is married why in the world is he not paying someone to pilot the Iron Man suit? After all he has a wife now, something to live for. 4. Why does Tony need to get married after all he's been through? Men would either throw themselves into their work or just need to be alone or maybe have no strings sex. If he just has to spend time with someone, romantically or not, he needs a person who doesn't know or doesn't care about his fortune or genius.

Its a similar thing to War Machine and Captain Marvel. Those two coming together made no sense and came out of nowhere. Emma and Tony have some history, but from what I read it seems like Emma just scolds him. Emma "Where were the Avengers when humanity slaughtered our children in Genosha". I mean Emma should be more hesitant and antagonistic to Tony given their history.

At this point it would be more interesting just to see tony go full Howard Hughes and locking himself away, fighting off villains that have to infiltrate an impenetrable mansion, bottling his urine, and working more from home as Mission Control essentially being the chief from doom patrol for a team of iron avengers. New dynamic, new perspectives, new character potentials. Hell, have Spider-Man redawn the iron spider armor, make him the field commander, and make him the iron jr the movies wanted him to be.

Emma and Tony used to hook up during Bendis's Avengers run. Tony had mentioned that he a Emma would occasionally bang off panel. I think Emma has referenced their encounters as well. Bendis only referenced this via character dialogue and never in panel.

This wedding was actually foretold in issue 6 of History of the Marvel Universe by Mark Waid when Galactus was retelling the entire Marvel comic tineline to Franklin Richards at the end of time. So they must have planned this at least since 2019

I saw this announcement on Twitter and even I was confused. I'm more of an X-Men fan than an Iron Man fan. And never in my life have I seen Tony Stark and Emma Frost interact at all. Am I the only one who noticed that Emma's new persona is a HUGE call back to her origins' story? When her mutation and telepathy awaken, she was originally very Bella Swan-esque: a pretty brunette, yet average and clumsy, before she started to dye her hair blonde and become the White Queen Emma we all knew. In other words, her "disguise/new look" is actually her real appearance (without counting the plastic surgeries). But, the cherry on the top of the cake, is the name she goes by now: Hazel Kendall - Hazel is her mother's name and Kendall is the surname of Emma's college teacher/first love! THIS CAN'T BE A COINCIDENCE, CAN IT????

If my understanding of the plot is correct - this is marriage of convenience (just like Fisk and Tython Marry) in order for Stark to get Krakoa citizenship = law immunity (Failong put Tony in tough spot from law perspective). For Emma this marriage is a good opportunity to get Stark and Avengers on Mutant side in their war against Orhis

And this is another reason why I stopped reading Marvel. Everything is no. 1 issue, no one reads the old stuff for reference and it seems to just be weak story telling.
