I never thought of this, but it explains everything. I am pretty sure we use American Ketchup in my country nowadays as it suddenly became incredibly disgusting. From the most popular sauce in the country, to something now only used to hide the flavor of bad meals. I miss when it was nice, because it completed the Mustard+Mayo combo. I can sadly imagine them being able to ruin mayo the same way. It's actually weird my country didn't riot over ketchup being ruined. That feels like something we'd do.
