Outside the walls, Marley dominion on the geopolitical area was already fading as technology was about to overcome Titan's prowess, and eventually would have crumbled, freeing the Eldian population overseas... Overall, I think it would have been better that way.

All that aside I also meant the entirety of his character and his individual motive to become a warrior, his whole personality disorder and how it first originates were tragic

Annie: *Crystalizes herself so their secrets never get revealed and they can't get anything out of her* Reiner, The Literal Next Day: Hey, Eren. Got a moment? On a serious note, this episode was wild. Such a game changing plot twist just dropped in the middle of another conversation, in THE BACKGROUND. In the manga, it's a tiny word bubble on the very edge of the page. Benedict Cumberbatch was looking at Reiner like he was insane the whole episode. Man really exposed both of them.

I feel like no one ever feels as bad for Bert as they do Reiner and Annie. Man’s had it just as rough, if not worse, cause he was the only one in the trio who didn’t kinda go off the deep end. Must have sucked being in that position so far away from home, with a sick father back at home and high ass stakes.

Yoo, another hint from season 1: Armin had the plan to attack Annie with their hoods up, so she couldn't kill them because they might be Eren. What does Reiner do 5 minutes later? Takes off his hood and charges her :P Hmmmm

Well to be fair to Reiner he only does it after Armin start screaming that "his best friend died" as a ploy to confuse Annie. At this moment the "let's pretend we might be Eren so we don't get killed" switch to a "let's pretend Eren is dead so this titan looses it's objective" so there is no need for them to hide their faces anymore. So it's not really a hint.

You know, it's even crazier than that. This is only two days after we found out about Annie, so in two days 4 titans were revealed in the cadets. And don't forget Eren is a titan too, so there were 5 titans in the 104th cadet corps, at least that we know of yet, maybe there are more, who knows? To be fair it makes more sense for it to be that quick. Until Annie's reveal, Eren was thought to be an anomaly... Suddenly, if Annie can be a titan too, it means that at least any abnormal titan behavior could hint as a human inside a titan, and it wouldn't have took really long for Hange to understand that Colossal and Armored were people. And if you understand that, you start to understand much more about what is happening. So even if Reiner / Bertholdt didn't slip up in the long range mission, they wouldn't have been able to hide much longer what they were. It was a smart move to move that quick, and gamble on the chaos.

@@gerardlacroix6015 I mean, they started suspecting the other cadets as soon as Eren was revelead, the expedition they went on was baiting him out hoping for the colossal or armored to show up, the misinformation about Eren was less about protecting him and more about narrowing down any leaks within the scouts. Even while the fight against Annie happened, the other cadets were isolated and their backgrounds checked up on. This is why Sasha carried the information about Reiner and Bertholdt to Hange, even while it was overshadowed by the new attack.

Be careful when looking up soundtracks for this show, if the track is used in multiple scenes you might get spoiled because people use footage for the video or even the thumbnail And yea that To Be Continued screen only gets worse, it's the real villain of this show It's torture even right now having to wait a week for the next episode of the final season

Annie talks about how "I don't want to play being a soldier." Reiner answers "You aren't much of a warrior either." :'D

another fun fact: Bertholdt is the only titan shifter based on his titan. The Colossal Titan wasn't supposed to have human form. But Isayama later changed it and when he wondered what would the Colossal holder look like he made him taller, so it would be more "obvious" he is the Colossal one :D :) I'm glad he changed it. Bertholdt is my favorite character.

21:58 in the span of like 24-48 hours for the scouts, they just revealed and fought Annie and then learned about Ymir, Reiner, and Bertholdt. Because it is a new season, a lot of people miss the fact that they literally just fought Annie the day before. Not to mention a new threat has also appear in the form of the beast titan.

The titan transformations in this episode are two of my favorite animated transformation sequences of all time. And part of that is because of the absolutely amazing soundtrack in background. Aege if you rewatch season 1 you will get so many clues about Reiner Episode 3 when evryone asks eren about armoured titan and eren says he is nothing, they show Reiner looking at eren like really. In battle of trost we see Reiner berthold and annie togather most. And u read Annie saying 'i failed as warrior' & berthold saying 'he was more of a warrior before' 2 episode ago

one of the best episodes of any show ever, and its not even the third best AoT episode 💀its one of the best well written reveals ever tho, and still getting the hype moment of betrayal later
