If the fit was better i think i could have over looked all the loose threads! But they definitely are making dresses for barbie dolls!! I’m still debating keeping the tatiana!
For the price I wish they would let you pick the exact cup and dress size so that it's a better fit for everyone. I am also an A cup size and it's so hard to find a stress that fits in the cup area.
I went to their store on Oxford street especially because I couldn’t figure out their sizing and was concerned about ordering it and paying customs in Canada for nothing and I’m so glad I did. 1-all the S in the popular models were sold out (at the flagship store!), 2-I’m a 0-2 in all my dresses which would be xs to xxs and in all their dresses I tried I’d have to be unhealthy to fit in their xs but their s was too big and even though I’m a B-C cup that was too loose and didn’t fit right in all dresses I tried. 3-the customer service was terrible. It was such a disappointment and I’ll stick with reformation going forward.
You have to be careful with zippers when there’s a lot of fabric. You have to pull the garment down tight as you zip and make sure it’s not eating any of the fabric.
I also noticed that the size has become smaller, because when Tallulah came out I bought it in a Small and I bought Carmen also in a size small and it was way too small, and I still git in the Small Tallulah
I am so extremely DISAPPOINTED with this brand. I had been looking at their dresses for the last 2-3 years and finally decided to buy one. I live in Asia and the country I live in adds expensive taxes on any overseas product over $50. So I asked my sister who lives in London to go buy the blue Carmen dress in store for me. My father brought it back with him as he was visiting her at that time. I chose a size XS at first as their size chart recommended according to my measurements. It was way too small around the back area. But I could tell the quality was good. I had to give it up to my sister who is smaller than me and sent it back to London. She went back in store, though and bought another one in a size S(F) (whatever that is). I just tried it on and as soon as I took it out of the box, I could tell it was not the same fabric AT ALL. It’s very similar to what is used for kaway jackets… I know for a fact the first one used a different fabric as I would never have been impressed with the quality of it had it been the same as this one… And it’s literally a different design?! Like not the same dress!! The straps have huge hideous square metal thingies that you can slide to make them longer or shorter. And they also have a metal ring at the base at the back which the first one did not have at all !!!! I even double checked the photos on their website, those things are not supposed to be there !!! The boning on this one also feels like lower quality than the first one. The strings for the bust area and the corset at the back are sh*t quality. They crack as soon as you pull on them, I was scared I was going to damage them already. And don’t even get me started on the bottom of the dress… like I said, the material is very similar to kaway jackets and the way they did the sewing at the bottom of the dress is so freaking weird… it feels so “baggy”. It’s not flat and like a “bag”. I don’t know how to explain it. Not elegant at all. It really looks and feels like an okay quality dupe but still cheap. Absolutely outrageous that they even have it in store and sell it for the same price. Never buying from them again.

Especially the close ups and details of the sewing, boning, buttons, lace, sizing, etc. I was humming and hawing for years about whether or not I should get some of these dresses, but their reviews on Trust pilot and Reddit threads made me hesitate 😄 Your review has defo made me not want to waste my money, no matter how pretty they are online. If your zipper gets stuck on a seam, rub soap along the zipper teeth in that area to help smooth it. Then zip it (not on the body) gently but firmly over and over. When you go to put it on, you need someone to pull the sides together so the fabric is not taut, and then zip. This happens because the extra amount of fabric. These all look so gorgeous on you! I’m using your video as inspo to sew my own!
Thanks a lot for this great and detailed review - If you don’t mind could you share your waist and hip sizes as I’m also not sure whether I’d fit into their S or M. For the waist I’m in the beginning range of an S but then for the hips closer to the end range of the S. Most of the dresses are like are A-line skirts so I’m hoping they’d fit the hips. Given your review of sizing up - Id have gone for M but they’re mostly out of stock in M - so not sure if I should risk the S or not bother at all. One other thing did they ship within the timeframe they gave you? Appreciate your advice! Thanks a lot!
hey there! I actually list my measurements in the description box (25 waist, 36 hip). only one of the dresses was kind of fitted in the hips. I also bought everything from Nordstrom and not directly from House of CB because I trust Nordies return policies. They shipped pretty quick too!

LOVE the Perle and Tatiana dresses! House of CB doesn’t ship to Hawaii so I have to order thru Nordstrom. I went for the Tatiana in the white floral print and cannot wait to try them on. I really wanna get the Pearle next but not sure when/where I can use it too 🤗 You look GREAT on them!!

I have a small waist and big boobs but im a mum of 3 and still breastfeeding so my breasts are very saggy. I also have concerns about the bra part of the dresses but for different reasons.
Interestingly enough I sewed up versions of the Carmen with the back lacing and used 100% cotton with boning. Your close ups helped me get it as close to their original AND I get to make sure the bust fits perfect for my small bust.

You look gorgeous in all the dresses, but I agree….if you’re paying that much…the dresses should fit correctly and there should not be threads hanging off the clothing. Just be aware on the reformation dresses that are made from viscose material. Viscose material tends to shrink A LOT. I had 4 out of my 6 reformation dresses come back about 3 sizes smaller from the dry cleaners. I think the cleaners must not have handled the material correctly too. I do know it has a tendency to shrink. Very upsetting as I was then out $900 worth of dresses and reformation would not help me. Make sure to size up when it’s made of viscose. Also do not leave a viscose dress in your car in the sun & heat. It completely discolored my beige floral dress into an ugly orange dress. Please learn from all my mistakes with reformation clothes. They are way too expensive and way too pretty to be made useless so quickly. Reformation offers zero help whatsoever even if you follow their instructions and take their clothes to the dry cleaners. Buy at your own risk. But I will say they are extremely flattering and beautiful dresses. I am extremely interested in the new House of CB Adabella dress…it is gorgeous, but I’m hoping it comes to Nordstrom soon….i don’t want to pay hefty shipping fees to return it to the U.K. if the fit is wrong.
hmmm my ref dresses have not shrunk, and most of them are viscose. i washed them in the washing machine too in cold hand wash cycle. although i do have one dress that feels a bit tighter but i think it's because i gained weight 🤣
@@SeaofBlush lol my mistake was probably taking them to the dry cleaners. I probably should have just washed them myself. I did read about something called “blocking” where the dry cleaners can stretch the material back out. I might try that. Worth a shot. :)
@@heidi77777 try ironing!! When my dress came out of the washer i thougjt it shrank too then my husband ironed it!! That fabric is sooo wrinkly it stays crumpled and feels like its smaller!!
Hi! Did you find the fabric on the Carmen dress to be really noisy and shiny? I thought it was a cotton dress and I purchased it from vinted, I’m starting to suspect it’s not real!
Actually yes!! Its a cotton blend it’s got a weirdly smooth texture! Its the nylon that’s in it! I wouldnt say its shiny but does have a sheen, it feels like cheap table cloth material 😂
