I am from Albania , Europe the prices have risen and everything is congested climate change,overpopulation,resource and food scarcity are the main reason for this.

When countries continue to produce Majors in English Literature and gender studies instead of Engineers, Scientists and STEM programmes. Now the young people can continue to care about migrants much more than their own selves. The only reason why thwy are complaining is because now, are at the stage where they have to make a living for themselves. 😂😂😂😂

My daughter a primary teacher with a masters degree has just left teaching as the work load was gobbling up her life, she’s now doing another job related to education and is now earning double the wage she got from teaching, I know what you mean about the application forms, then you’d be lucky to get to the top ten applicants, nightmare to say the least…

When you only work 7 hours and 9 months out of the year that's exactly what you deserve to get. He has a degree and literally is a teacher but has made multiple dumb decisions. yes but he’s claiming he’s working a full time job for £1000 unless he’s a trainee or on some kind of scheme that’s illegal. that’s less than minimum wage. what’s more likely is he’s asked in for a few hours a day and works part time but because it’s basically just watching a kid with learning difficulty stays calm then it’s not a teaching job and so will be paid what anyone else in a service role will get. sorry to say that. but above all it’s a salary he chose to accept. whatever the reason. in a free society there must be some personal accountability. i mean he says he’s a qualified teacher he could offset the low earnings with doing some online tutoring. there’s a huge market for people who now want their kids to do well so they hire tutors. why not do that for a few hours a night or over the weekends. i’m just really shocked how he blames everyone else for his situation.

Just because you have a master`s degree DOES NOT make you a better employee or more qualified as the degree might be unrelated to the job you do. If someone is doing a more responsible job then they should be paid more regardless of their education. Degrees are handed out like sweets nowadays, any can get one.

it’s not so much that. we just have to be mindful how much we spend on the public sector. also he’s an assistant not a teacher. the public sector of course doesn’t produce any new wealth or income even when it comes to tax. as the tax people in the public sector get paid has come from taxes paid by the private sector. so if we want more money for public sector we need to allow private sector higher wages. and of course the catch here is those demanding higher wages for public sector also demand that the private sector pay even more tax which of course disincentivises them to work more if half is taken in tax.

@@atekle1382 because school pensions are some of the best in the Country, what you put in is matched by the employer which in this case is the taxpayer. My children’s Primary School head teacher has just retired at the grand old age of 56, I’ll be lucky if I can afford to stop work when I’m 70.

I don't get a £1000 in hand every month. Don't even get £500. Being a carer I get about £450 a month cash. If you factor in the housing benefit and council tax reduction benefit that would be roughly £350 a month on top of what I get but that isn't paid directly to me. You might think £450 is a lot of money but it isn't. By the time I pay electric, gas and water that is roughly £284 gone. Add on the broadband bill of £35.50 a month and an IVA of £55 I got maybes £90 left for food and transport. I hate to think how bad things would be if I was on unemployment benefits.

Just as a tip not a criticism in any way... I just got my broadband down to £12 a month on Vodafone Essentials. I think a few companies are offering am Essentials tariff now. Hope this helps a little if you can get it. Also see if you can get on the big difference scheme with your water.

I assure you they don't, unless you are a single mum as those are the only demographic that make more money working less.

I work as a teaching assistant of 20 years. I’m expected to mark work, be involved in lessons planning and attend all staff meetings and training. I’m also expected to work above my hours and stand in to teach. I’m only paid as a level 2 TA and have also been pay scale frozen for 15 years. Not a great position to be in either! Not all schools stick to the rules or job descriptions. I’m not criticising your comment, just giving a different point of view.

I actually do think one reason they pay teaching assistants less is they are worried with a shortage of teachers already that if teaching assistant pay becomes attractive teachers will leave post to be teaching assistants. I actually know a high school maths teacher who did exactly that. I actually considered it myself as I loved working with children and helping them but because of low TA pay I left field entirely

You have to work 25 to 30 years to make that salary in New York...Teachers are under paid every where. ...

The average teacher in Canada makes about 48k USD no where near 120k USD or CAD. That's still better than what they make in the UK, but Canada has an outrageous cost of living.

What? Teachers are generally not paid well in the USA, you're correct. However even paraprofessionals are paid more than $12000 a year. Easily twice that.

The average teacher salary in the United States in 2021 was over $65kUSD. That guy makes less than a cafeteria lady or janitor. Not even in a state like Mississippi or Alabama are salaries that low for School employees, let alone someone with a master's degree.

Unfortunately Australia has relatively high visa requirements. An average job won't be enough for someone to be able stay

There is nowhere in America where a full time school employee is making 1000 bucks a month. Even Janitors and Cafeteria ladies make more than that. Substitute teachers are making twice that pay. This is nothing like America. The average nurse in America makes 82k and the average teacher makes 65k for 9 months of work. The UK has extremely low wages based on the cost of living. It creates a really low living standard even for degree holding professionals.

@@tabernathy0428 I disagree with your numbers. Maybe in large cities teachers make 65K, but in suburbia and in the south teachers make much less. Also he’s not making 1000 bucks but 1000 pounds or US $1,250.
